Spike
Oh sheeeet... A GHOST engine? I've been wanting to figure out how to make one in GM FOREVER. (Specifically for a race-with-metal level)
BlazefireLP
Did you use the "Demo file and playback" feature in MMF2?
Aikocho
Did you use the "Demo file and playback" feature in MMF2? Nope. Its build to record every sequence and position the player has made, and plays it back in another sprite. Besides, that feature never worked for me anyway. Serephim
what, did you just save his position during every frame in a file somewhere?
LarkSS
Pretty much. Shove the important information into an array, save it if you went faster than your previous run, and load it at the start of the frame so you can race. Was just a bit of struggle trying to sync up and correctly save the ghost when dieing and respawning from a checkpoint.
BlazefireLP
Strange how I could have done the same with using the built in system. It's not really that hard to use. Still, the way you've done it, is impressive. Good job guys.
DimensionWarped
I'm pretty sure the demo recorder can't do a time attack ghost because playing a demo takes control of the whole game. Feel free to prove me wrong though if you know something about it that I don't.

Shockey Rai
Palm Beach Act 1 (Used to be Chaos Beach) I'm thinking the sand needs to be darkened a little. i plan on doing the paralax for the clouds so they wont be static.
BlazefireLP
Yeah, maybe something like this:
Spike
Blazefire's got the right idea. It's important for the sand to have a "top", as well, so it looks like there's actually a surface.
snow toilet
Hmm...I think I'd lower that ground just a bit. It looks too high up.
BlazefireLP
It doesn't matter where you move the ground, it'll look the same as that. It's the camera that can make it look different.
Shockey Rai
Gotcha. I'll Fix that. That and the Paralax makes it look up high.
Shockey Rai
Better?
Strife
Better. It has a lot more depth now. And I can imagine the player starting at a high point where not much of the background is visible, but then they run down that slope and are like "whoa" at all the palm trees that come up in the distance. BlazefireLP
I don't like the sand at all. It still looks kinda flat and it looks horrible for the fact it looks like a straight out JPEG.
Shockey Rai
I don't like the sand at all. It still looks kinda flat and it looks horrible for the fact it looks like a straight out JPEG. Even though its not out of a JPEG. (Jpeg i only use for photos, everything else PNG baby!) I used the grain effects & inner shadow effects from Adobe Photoshop. I like the sand as it is now, Everyone has their own options.
OverbounD
The sand does still need work IMHO. I see green in the sand. Also I think the top of the sand would look better if it wasn't just a flat 2 pixels worth of darker sand. Try posterize it to reduce the colors some then go in and then manually tweak the colors with the paint bucket tool. The palm trees in the back are really nice. To me though it looks rather funny having them mixed with the EHZ palmtree in the front. Maybe you could make the styles match a little better. BlazefireLP
You could even get 2 outlines in photoshop of the sand, then make one bigger than the other. Then make them both, transparent overlay them, and hue shift accordingly.
