Betaman
You should probably put that in your Tailsena physics help thread. That's where it would do the most good. You could also make a thread for your game, telling what it does.
Caleb
The help forum should help you with that. C:

DimensionWarped
Even I'm messing around with GDK [qimg]http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa30/BlazeHedgehog/sa%20emoticons/ohdear.png[/qimg][qimg]http://i.imgur.com/2Fo6K.png[/qimg] You know Blaze, notepad is a classic and all, but switching editors could really cement your coding cred. Personally, I use vim, but there are lots of good ones out there.
TailsSena
I use notepad for these thing because it's pretty good, it can open just about any code file.
GSF
On windows, I use Notepad2. Portable, has syntax highlighting, and simple. While regular windows notepad is... okay for most things, it chokes on big files (say, a 1+ MB FAQ from Gamefaqs for example.) It takes eons to open. I've been using geany some time ago, but now I use kate (and nano in cli.) I only use vim in "vimdiff" mode, which is basically side-by-side, for easy comparison. The thing is, other text editors have a lot more to offer like syntax highlighting and better shortcut keys and all kinds of stuff like that. BlazefireLP
Problem with my parallaxer, can anyone help? It's doing this... [qimg]http://i.imgur.com/zVdSk.png[/qimg] It's supposed to look like this... [qimg]http://i.imgur.com/DUEkE.png[/qimg] HELP!!!! How did you mess that up? O_O
TailsSena
How did you mess that up? O_O I have no idea?! All four parallaxers come from the same spritesheet, so what's so special about that image?! Yes, I've tried replacing the paralaxer, same problem. Resize the image, same problem. Use another image, solves it, but I need THAT image!
BlazefireLP
When you say Parallaxer, do you mean the actual object?
TailsSena
Yes, why? 'Nother noobish mistake?
BlazefireLP
You shouldn't be using Parallaxer for something so simple as that BG. Just make a tile-able quick backdrop, put it into a Layer and set the co-officients to 0.5 or something.
TailsSena
Uhmm... That made a whole lot of sense... Care to elaborate ? Oookey... It works now, but I was using a parallaxer so it'd move.
DimensionWarped
He's saying to use one of the existing parallax systems *like in the one in Worlds) that doesn't rely on parallaxer. I honestly don't even know if parallaxer is particularly expensive, so I'd say to just carry on as you are. Minus the failing at transparency bit I mean. TailsSena
Already changed it, and the transparency isn't the issue, I think... Transparent color didn't work, but had the same garbled layer thingy... Alpha channel got rid of the grey, but didn't fix the funkey goofyness. Making it one huge Quick Backdrop solved it, and I suppose I'll get used to it not parallaxing. It looks more like Sonic Advance 2 this way, since that game had some really terrible/lacking parallax effects.
BlazefireLP
To make it slide, you did set it like "Set offset to timer/*number* or something right? Also, in using parallaxer is probably why your image is messing up, it's to do with how parallaxer works.

LarkSS
The parallaxer object is meant to give an image per-line parallax for more advanced effects like 3D ocean water and hills with depth. For the background you're trying to set up, I'd just do as the others suggest and mess with MMF2's parallax technique. If you're wondering why Worlds does it differently, it's to avoid requiring a giant quickbackdrop object, as the background resizes itself to only be as big as what's necessary to fit the screen (more efficient). BlazefireLP
Another way to do it, is "Background/Backdrop box object "or something like that" if I remember. Do an always, then set X Left Frame /0.1 and then same with Y or something along those lines? Oh and @lilfighter: Awesome screenies .
TailsSena
Ah well, just kept it as a huge quick backdrop along the bottom. And it actually looks nice. Here are some screenshots.
