Decided to get some well-deserved practice and made shitty tiles for warmup.

I'mma do more in the future, hopefully with some being much prettier and more relevant to the game.

Also, I have the FL Studios demo on my laptop, and I can technically record my sounds in the wake of a disabled save option...buuuuuuuuuut...:x

EDIT - Also, I REALLY should swap out this Sonic sprite for an older one. :B

Crystal City is looking a bit more 'urban' than I expected. I always pictured it as being large spires of crystal, like Ko-Metru from 'Bionicle', except Blue instead of white.

Except more densely packed, more of them and varying heights (like a regular city skyline) and with some slightly futuristic city elements (like suspended trainlines going in and out of the buildings).

Just... some potential inspiration for you there, in case you're stuck for ideas, lawl.

A lot of interesting things going on here, gives me a bit of a better understanding of the level. Thank you sir.

And Lone sent me some concept music for Crystal City, might as well post it if it's okay.

I'd prefer to not have all my Unfinished tripe flood the thread. I think until the demo's done, the thread should just be for Art, programming, concept, basically actual progress on the game, but that's just me personally.

1st: I guess this means I can't revive Sonic Origins' Robotnik episode anymore...Damn.

2nd: I love the direction your taking this project in. If you need to, I'd see if I can fit in some time to make some cutscenes and digital art in between Sonic XD and DaHog's, as of yet unnamed, fan game project, if you want me to.

Also, I REALLY should swap out this Sonic sprite for an older one. :B

Anyways, I'll let you have this prequel, my storyline for Robotnik was rather un-Sonicy and extremely contradictory of itself. In other words, you've won this prequel, sir, but I have a Sonic CD Prequel to go and make a thread about! Also, I could lend you some ideas I'd been brainstorming for my game if you'd like them?

Hey Jassbec, I'm prepared to work on [beta] level tiles and stuff, but I'd like to see if you have a preferred size for the tiles, in case Worlds is fidgety in that regard or etc.

I'm gonna' start with Green Gate, btw.

128x128 as a maximum size for ground tiles (unless it's a visual effect) please! haha.

Hold on a minute...

Is that "platform" at the bottom left of the Eternal Elevator concept something from another game with a blue hero, who is currently engaging in crossoverity with Sonic himself? Because it sure looks like it! Also, OBSIDIAN LULZ!

I'm glad you noticed my Megaman 2 Airman reference!

both Eternal Elevator and Airman's stages involve air, so i decided to have some fun :3

[seperate tiles are 32x32, four rows of four tiles fill 128x128. I suppose I just did these to present my current method. :B Well, that and the fact these aren't quite done; I need another tile color for one, and maybe some more details.]

Thank you, sir! My ideal is that it would be best paired with some sort of 3-phase boss fight. Anyway, I'll make it downloadable at 1:00 pm tomorrow until 1:30 pm so you can grab it (that's British time, just in case).

Uh, Jass? You know that intro animation on your website? Is the music for that original? It just sounds very Kirby-ish to me. Also, I'd suggest something more detailed for you title screen. Maybe Gecko could create a top down view of Green Gate, sort of like this?
