Voting

So here we are. I've ended it 2 days late (totally forgot :tsleep:) , and we've had 7 entries (well, actually 6 ½, since SonicProject didn't finish his, though I'm adding it anyway)... So it's time to vote. Here are the entries (sorted alphabetically, by username):

Introdution

So I'm continuing with the Spriting Competition series. This time it will be somewhat based on the Rorschach Inkblot Test.

The Rorschach inkblot test (Pronounced roar-shock) is a method of psychological evaluation. Psychologists use this test to try to examine the personality characteristics and emotional functioning of their patients.

The objectives here, however, are to determine different members interpretations of the same shapes, and their abilities to improvise.

Rules

The rules are simple. Unlike before, now you can use how many colors as you want. Like before, you can also sprite just about anything. (No porn though :)) It can be a Sonic character, a person, an animal, a household object, some kind of food, a spaceship. It doesn't matter at all.

The only restriction is that you'll have to make a sprite that matches one of the following inkblot shapes:

Entries should be posted on this thread.

Notes

  • Stacking various objects/beings IS allowed. But they'll need to have at least some relation.
  • For more interesting results, try using different perspectives. But it's not like a side view isn't allowed.
  • The shape matching doesn't need to be pixel perfect. But it still needs to be recognizeable as the same shape.

Special Rule

Due to the nature of this contest, seeing the other participants entries may influence your ideas. It's not that you can't see them, but it wouldn't be as fun as if you don't. With that in mind, I would ask the participants to wrap their entries with Spoiler tags. (

and [‎‏‎‏/spoiler]). Failure to do so WILL RENDER THE ENTRIES INVALID.

Deadline

Entries are due April 5, inclusive. Avoid submitting your entry at the last time, since you may have some problem and miss it. If we don't get 6 entries until the deadline, it will be delayed to April 10. Voting will begin after the deadline.

Questions/Comments

If you have any questions or have found any problem on the rules, please, feel free to post here.

Also, if my idea is unreasonable and nobody can come up with entries, I'll try to come up with another idea.

I guess that's it... Good luck to everyone.

Such an awesome contest idea. It can only go downhill from here.

Anyway, like DW, my initial responses were pretty much all pokemon:

(a) A mud-fish Raichu hybrid (definately)

(B) A big robotic dog-head like the component from FLCL with very small legs and Super-Saiyan hair. Either that or some kid of Bulbasaur.

© A mix between a cool Slowbrow and the elephant man (plus a faerie?)

(d) Some type of scull with an X and + behind it and a big gun.

I tried to make something out of (d), but couldn't manage at all. So I made something out of (a):

Some kind of floating knight without a head.

Obviously completely unrefined and unfinished, just stakin' my claim.
