  1. Thanks for the tips everyone, though I'm gonna stick with what I got going because it's simple and it works. I rather not try and fix something that's not broken. If I run into problems though, I'll be sure to mess around with the ideas y'all brewed up. On topic though: I went through this whole thread and wow, fangaming has really evolved since the last time I've seen it.
  2. Alright, noted. Unfortunately, that's how CLWE built his engine..to use active objects to carry out the isometric events and view orders. There's 3 "parts" to each "square" used as platforms: The top, the wall, and underneath a shadow that handles the isometric events. Yea, the total amount of actives going had me worried, and it did start to lag until I messed about with stuff, and shutting off actives out of the window area. So far, the frame rate hasn't dropped anymore, but we'll see. 640x480 is too big, but I can probably increase the size a bit more. I was wondering about that too when I had it in fullscreen. Tell me about it. I upgraded to HWA though, and I did alot of optimizations before going deeper into the project, and so far, everything is running pretty smooth. I wish, I'm almost sure that 99.9% of everything are actives. Well this is sorta like an experiment even though I'm really interested in messing about more with this project, but if frame rate becomes an issue at anytime, I plan on scrapping and going back to Turbo 2. This was damn fun to make though.
  3. It's alright, that demo is pretty outdated. I guess I never got around to making another one. Also here's a vid on my project: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CG0a8ioTdnU Frame rate is higher in game, it's just Camstudio slowing it down. The engine isn't "perfect" to the actual Sonic 3D Blast (no slopes or loops) but I plan on working around those limitations by adding my own gimmicks and stuff that Sonic 3D Blast didn't have, like going underwater.
  4. lol I remember you gsoft. I didn't think you've played my Turbo 1. Also really? I don't remember if I ever showed off the demo during a SAGE (if I recall correctly, I only had enough time to show off an engine test) but I DO remember posting a demo somewhere on the forums. Judging from the demo BlazefireLP found for me (thanks bro), it's from 2007 xD. So damn, 5 years since I've started it and I haven't finished it...yea I might open up the file again and get down to work. @Sparks: Hm? Isn't jpeg still the popular tool for anti-theft? Not that I'm too concerned about it, I don't even know if I'm gonna pursue this project...
  5. Hm? I know you? Also thanks, I was thinking about making a video later just to show some stuff. Also that's awesome you've played Turbo 2 I've been wanting to continue on it (and I should considering the healthy amount of work I've done on it). But there's just something about this project that makes it...fun? I dunno, one day I was like "damn, I wonder why no one has tried to make a Sonic 3D Blast fangame." Played around with CLWE's engine, and boom.
  6. Sup guys, been having a strange urge to get back into fangaming for a couple months and well...I'm sorta in a bind lol. I want to get back into fangaming, but I don't know if I want to continue on my old Sonic game (Sonic Turbo 2) or something completely different... Just something I've been messing about with for awhile...these aren't mock-ups btw, it's a working engine based off of CLWE's Isometric Engine. Any thoughts?
  7. I'm flattered. =P I dunno man, I've been trying to get back into the groove for awhile now, but due to issues and tight schedules, it's really hard to even open the application again. I do want to finish it though. Man, looking at Sonic turbo 1 compared to what I can do now, it really is a piece of shit. :X There were alot of fangame authors that not only got me into fangaming, but also lead me here. My favorite was TGF Team (Bladerunners and Sonic QTE ftw). Infact, I'm pretty sure TGF Team was the person who lead me here, I remember sending him an email saying how much his game rocked, and how I could do something like that. Strangely enough, I got a response and he gave me a link here. To be fair, the fangames on the main site pretty much inspired me, I've played them all. CLWE, Manic Team and Beamer (Knuckles Millennium) come to mind at first thought, but there's alot more I can't really remember. For tutorials, LarkSS definitely comes to mind, I remember using something of his on the main site before I came here, and during my time here. And yes, Dami is pretty much a vital part of our community. Rock.
  8. *Rises from the dead* So yea, I just got this new computer a month and ago decided for no reason to install my MMF crap on it. I installed MMF 1.5, but for some reason it won't run. Like it stops loading up the plugins (kcprint.cox for example) and then it doesn't respond anymore. I tried removing the plugin to see if that was the only problem, but apparently it hates anything with the letters "kc" in it and perhaps ".cox". So it begs the question; Is MMF 1.5 compatible with Vista? Or do I need some sort of patch? For those wondering why I'm still using 1.5, I like its object editor compared to MMF2's bullshit version. Thanks in advanced, and Happy New year.
  9. Sup, Fatso and Stretch. EDIT: and yea, this short is awesome.
  10. Yup...it's the best idea since giving Shadow a gun. What's next? Sonic using a sword? oh wait...
  11. Or atleast stop whoring the Genesis and maybe try other consoles? Seriously, I would love a Saturn or Dreamcast Compilation, as there were alot of games I haven't played on them.
  12. So...they're rereleasing the Sega Genesis Collection only to make it for the PS3 and Xbox with a few extra games? Nope, wouldn't say that it is something to be happy about, in my opinion that is...
  13. Haven't played Next, don't own a PS3 or 360.
