That is true, I just like to see things used to their full extent. It's a quirk of mine, I can't stand to see something like a fire shield, but having TONS of them in the fire level. I'd rather see one or two here and there, and plenty of spots for you to know that you'd better watch your step or you're going to get killed.

As of yet I dont think Ive had two of any powerup in a single level. In some situations (later on) there will be times when the power up you need is not even in the current level, since you keep them between stages like mario world.

Now, I don't mean to be an arse but this looks INCREDIBLY familiar:

The only reason why they look similar is because we all used the Mushroom Hill tree trunks and various types of foliage, with a sparkling ocean/ island behind it all. (Ecco The Dolphin FTW). I didn't want to use the trunk from the Sonic 3 opening cutscene because frankly, they look like chewed- up pencils. Not only that Chronic, but I couldn't have ripped off your ground tiles (considering that you never released a shot or mockup with the actual wood zone ground tiles underneath the grass, you just showed the grass. Same thing with the opening in the wide Mushroom Hill tree trunk.), same with the use of taking the Wood Zone tiles, and making them into a square with the little X or slash in the middle and wooden branches above the ground connecting the trees. However if you want me to remove the little Wood Zone square thing, I would be more than willing to.

It's just the layout of your background is nigh on exactly the same as mine. For example I wanted to avoid anything I'd seen previous and decided to use Launch Base leaves and Aquatic Ruins leaves which I hadn't seen used this way before. Definitely not the Launch Base leaves. Yet they're used in exactly the same context as yours. I know you didn't copy me but I'm just saying the layout of it looks EXTREMELY similar to mine. Seems all of my zones and level tiles/designs have wound up directly or indirectly in your works some how.

I don't really want to reopen this debate, I probably shouldn't have even posted.

I think constant updates is actually an unfortunate drawback of the internet when it comes to anticipating anything. It's not uncommon to know every thing, every feature about everything in a game before it's released these days.

You should probably just do 2 or 3 stages and not mention them at all. Surprise everyone for a change!

@HyperEmerson It could use more dithering, but it's fine.

I have a couple of things to update. First off, some screenshots of the test level. We put in the SSZ tiles to see how they looks, and they look fine. I know that there are some transparency and layering issues with the palmtree and such and some of the Sonic sprites are outdated slightly, but I went back in and fixed it, plus I changed the tiles to the ones with the oudents in them, like in the mockup.
