You didn't have to quote all of his huge images just to comment on the life icon that you put in a separate image anyway.

Just do something like: @Jeffrey_bones:

So that I stay on topic:

Thanks to downtime while at college, this has been getting closer to preview status. I am doing my best to make the source code easy to use for anyone, but I don't plan to release it until I finally finish the level editor so I can add the more advanced features (slopes/world shadowing), or if I see myself losing interest to continue the project (since not sharing the source code at that point would be a waste ;>).

Ah and for those wondering, yes, even though it's in MMF2 it runs very fast. I implemented Delta Time which allows me to play it at 75fps on my home desktop, and also makes it very playable at 20ish fps on my 2002 laptop.

Ooh, so you're releasing an open source engine of that, Lark? =D That would certainly help me get a head-start on learning some of the basic things about OpenGL.

It would be really neat if I could combine it with a Mode7 height map... but I kinda doubt it. Prolly better off just using one of the two.

More stuff of Re-Genesis this time im going for the title screen, since Sonic 4 title screen seems and is based on the Sonic 1 it was ratter easy to do, more for the ring thing since the ring itself doesnt change that much of colours, thou i had to redo in small size the Sonic 4 thing since the one i have is very huge, as you can see is almost a exact replica of the HD version in genesis way, and you are wondering why sonic doesnt has his green eyes? if you look closely he has green eyes just a very dark shade of green like the ones in those Sonic 06 prototype screens.

Now i have a new engine for the game more easy to understand and more flexible to add the homing and stuff, but i will keep the Sonic Worlds version just in case, for now in that version it has the new titlecard and the jump dash maded it from the fire dash of the Fire Shield.

@Azukara: well its only a preview of what im working on, but is getting there thanks for the tip.

@P3DR0: yeah a pretty good one if i must say XDD, yeah i have to fix that like i said to azukara i was showing how the titlescreen was getting, now i have to work more into the S4 pose, since its inspired on the S1 titlescreen pose but at the same time it has that difference (dunno why sonic in the first one had that pose and in sonic 4 has that more cool one) thanks again for the tip and the example it helps a lot.

I mostly feel that the bridge or whatever it is in the background needs to be desaturated/darkened to contrasted better with the foreground. The mountains could use a bit of a lightened edge too to make it seem like it is being lit by the moon (right now it just sorta seems pasted over top).

Also I really don't like the angled gradient that I'm guessing is water. =/

Edit: The left edge of the shadow for the large blue pipes shouldn't be a hard angle, but smooth just like the right edge. Bothers my eyes as it is now. Also, I think I would like the upside-down tree-looking things that are hanging under the top of the foreground more if they casted a shadow as well. It's like I want to like your bg but right now it's just not doing it for me.

Yeah, I made sure that the forum he hails from would be able to see that he was a dick when he made some thread trashtalking our site.

@Jet: It looks rather blurry. Rather than straight-up rescaling those trees, I'd recommend using something along the lines of scale2x and then going over them in an image editor to work out the details.
