DJ espeed
It did its job. It got your attention. Last I checked, teasers didn't need to have footage of the game to be called such. And yeah, I guess seeing that visual style over and over (read: Sonic 4 trailers and the Sonic CD trailers) gets annoying. But if they're including this and Sonic CD in a saga of it's own, then the visual consistency with the trailers is nothing worth pointing a stick at. Personally, I don't mind it all. Just so long as the advertised product works like it should, then it's fine.
Duckboy
I hate that line of thinking. "It got your attention" is like when people say "all publicity is good publicity". Bad publicity is bad publicity, and will likely turn people away. Like I dunno a dude shits on your car and and you're pretty mad about it but he just goes "any attention is good attention!". Likewise, this kind of trailer does nothing but annoy people, especially when they say "oh hey a trailer is coming" and oh... oh that's just a trailer saying this game is coming? Didn't... didn't we already know this? I suppose I come off angry about that, and I'm really not. Episode 1 was bad so I don't expect 2 to be any better. But I think it's silly to go "It's okay that the trailer showed literally nothing worth watching cause it got your attention!". Negative attention I suppose?? The first time it happened you might have been able to say that because it sort of pissed a lot of us off a little. Now it's just rote. The impact is gone and I couldn't care at all about this announcement or the product associated with it.

I mean, I'd be pissed if someone shat on my car. But I'd never go off and say "any attention is good attention." Especially in that case. I'm just saying that these things have one purpose and the trailer fulfilled its purpose.
DimensionWarped
Again, no, it didn't. The purpose of a trailer is to get people excited about an upcoming product, or at the bare minimum to attract a long-running interest. No one who saw the original trailer is going to have any kind of renewed interest from seeing this what-so-ever.
DJ espeed
You win. So, as far as anything else goes, it probably won't be shown for months, knowing Sega's campaign for Episode 1. You know, since they said that they're doing it again for Episode 2. ...fucking twerps.
Strife
What I learned from this trailer: - It's a game - It has a rival - It has a sidekick Go Sega.

Hell yeah, I'll even drop them in a volcano for this , the same crap as Episode 1 all over again, I am not optimistic.
TailsSena
Should I even bother playing Episode 1? I've seen it and it doesn't look like the greatest game ever... Kinda looks like they took Rivals, stripped it of anything that made it fun, and ported it to consoles.
luksamuk
I feel like it's not worthy, TailsSena. Epi 1 always seemed like it was a spin-off and wouldn't add anything to the plot of its sequels. I mean, Eggman recycling his plans? That's what Epi 1 is all about... Djawed
Sonic 4 episode 2's logo is reveiled So what can be drawn out of this is? -That it looks similar to the sonic 2 poses, and.... That it's fucking lazy. Did they really just move sonic's arms and call it a day? I know it's only a logo but what kind of impression should I take of this? I kind of don't wanna base so much off of a logo, but it's not really giving a good impression of how seriously they're taking this.

JetHawk95
I prefer the fan made one personally Looks lots better They have obviously just copied the Sonic 2 poses and made them modern, Look at sonics arm and finger and Tails' arm too,
luksamuk
They call it Sonic 4 and can't even come with something original... I should've known about it. Prepare for an eventual Chuá Hill Zone too. (They already used Splash, why wouldn't they use Chuá?) EDIT: The only bad thing thy didn't copy was Sonic's expression. Look at his Monalisa-styled smile at Sonic 2. We can almost assume that he wasn't happy there.
Kirs
Its ugly, as the first one. The only good thing is how Sonic seems to be saying 'GTFO'
Serephim
The only good thing is how Sonic seems to be saying 'GTFO' Seriously though Kirs, i can't unsee that now. Thanks lol. No, this doesn't say much about what they're putting into this game. They used Whitehead's engine for SonicCD on consoles. They should just hire him as lead programmer, ditch the 3D, and give him artists for the rest of Sonic 4's episodes. Fuck the Wii version. Or, at the very least, make Sonic Generations' classic level setup the entire game for Sonic 4, except with physics that actually differ from modern sonic in the same game. Or something, i dont know. I dont know who's in charge of this game, but Sonic Team has rapidly, RAPIDLY improved from Unleashed > Colors > Generations (not to say Unleashed was bad, you shitcrazy fans made that game seem far worse than it ever could have been in reality). If it's any kind of the same people, i have faith in Episode 4. But it doesn't look to be this way in the slightest. Sonic Team has recycled the same character physics engine for 3 games now (Unleashed, Colors, Generations) and each entry feels much improved over the other, with completely minimal changes, if any. The same is most definitely possible for this game, but they're just gonna have to put in some effort. Seriously.
luksamuk
Its ugly, as the first one. The only good thing is how Sonic seems to be saying 'GTFO' Can't stop seeing this either. I agree with Ristar. I'm already trusting SEGA with physics, I'm sure they will make a great game on that, although I know I'll never feel the classics again and the closest I could see was Classic Sonic from Generations. My only concern is the originality, it feels like they're afraid of coming up with something really new. That's the impression I had about the logo. (Joke time) Because of that, I also have the impression that the levels list is US version: -Chuá Hill Zone -Labs Zone -Ruins Zone -Casino Zone -Top of Mountain Zone -Cavern Zone -Base on Earth Zone -Sky Zone -Base on Sky Zone -Base on Space Zone -Very Secret & Special Space Zone JP Version: -Emerald Hill II Zone -Chemical Plant II Zone -Aquatic Ruin II Zone -Casino Night II Zone -Hill Top II Zone -Mystic Cave II Zone -Sky Chase II Zone -Wing Fortress II Zone -Death Egg III Ultimate Remake After Sonic 3 And After After The Sequel For LakeFeperd's Sake Zone -New Doomsday To Troll Those Idiot Fangames Who Tried To Make a Doomsday Zone With a Sequel to the Mega Drive Saga Zone

luksamuk
[joke]Are you kidding? Japan always makes awesome things and America always fuck it all up. Look at the original concept of Sonic 2, which was already going to have a Time Travel[/joke] Found this image somewhere: And I also agree. Dark Raven X
With all the apparent effort they're putting into Sonic 4: Episode 2, I'd honestly rather they call it Sonic 5, make it a clean break. I can't see anything good coming of naming it after the least liked main game of the series. >.>
