Ollie
The Self bootable doesn't seem to Boot on the actual Hardware nor on a emulator. It just goes to the Music Player, I assume it's a Self booting disc since it's in .nrg format. Oh and might one of the Levels be Egg Garden? ZFG
Wahey! It's cool that you take XG over for Euan. and still, I'm jaelous at those sprites.
ShadowMasterX5
Hey Taxman, which is the 3rd Retro Sonic Stage you added? Cause I see Scorched Spire is Volcano Zone and Robotic Resort is Egg Gardens Am I right?
Aerosol
I was really hoping for a DC release...ah well.
Slingerland
I can't understand what everybody's fascination with a Dreamcast port is all about.
ShadowMasterX5
I also agree with Slingerland, why Dreamcast lol, and not PS2 or GC? I bet they could run a good 60fps, plus I prefer smaller controllers or just play it on PC with a gamepad XD
DimensionWarped
I think you should be more than satisfied with the Wii.
Slingerland
Is it crazy for me to expect a big, red banner of lameness about this revelation some time tomorrow morning? Cat's out of the bag now. I'd go back and edit all of it out to keep it a secret, but I bet that everybody has read it by now.
Steven M
Yeah ok I may as well spill the beans... Retro Sonic is coming to the ColecoVision! UNRELENTING JOY
Ollie
I can't understand what everybody's fascination with a Dreamcast port is all about. Because Retro Sonic on the Dreamcast was a big hit in the Homebrew scene, even though it was just a port of emerald Hill zone, IIRC, it was still pretty badass. VectorSatyr
Also, Dreamcast homebrew has a decent following in general.
Neo Hazard
Also, Dreamcast homebrew has a decent following in general. Wii homebrew's much simpler though. You don't need to burn discs or much at all, you just put files on an SD card and you're set.

Interestingly, he misses the fact that it is going to be home brew entirely. It just says its going to the Wii like any other game. I'm sure you all already figured this out, but Nexus is doing the same what with it being the same engine and all. Bob knows I've only been hinting at it for the last four months. ShadowMasterX5
To the WII? Really? Amazing I cant believe I missed that, That'll be fun on the WII, so when we jump (WII Remote) Sonic Jumps? Or do we play it with GC controllers connected to the WII? DimensionWarped
If I'm not mistaken, the classic controller is the number one priority followed by whatever else is popular to play Virtual Console games. I don't think Tax plans to do anything with motion control, but I could be wrong on that one (not likely).
Slingerland
Yeah, dawg, Wii porting's gonna be tight shit for both games. Classic controllers and sideways Wii Remote by itself will be the priority.
The ParadoxX
Wii, Dreamcast, Colecovision, Whatever! I can't wait to play it on my PC!!!
The Taxman
Ok, for all the Dreamcast fans/nuts out there, I've decided to go ahead with a DC port for RSXG. It won't be out the same time as the PC/Mac/Wii version though since it requires more tweaking than a Vanilla port. As with the previous DC port, I have to retool the graphics to use hardware rendering instead of my own software library in order to get the full 60fps speed, and there will probably be minor graphics differences as a result. But hey think of it like Earthworm Jim 2, the graphics for that game looked different between Megadrive/Snes/Saturn etc.

GHFan
Dang, now I REALLY want the RSDK. Too bad from what I've read it won't be released until Sonic Nexus is done, which will probably be forever.
DimensionWarped
I imagine he is actually going to release it after Retro XG is done, which if I had to guess would be around the same time.
Blue Emerald
Dang, now I REALLY want the RSDK. Too bad from what I've read it won't be released until Sonic Nexus is done, which will probably be forever. No, they'll get it done for sure. It's recently shown considerable progress, and Slingerland's adamant on keeping that project alive. From what I've read, the new demo has a good chance of a release in the early half of this year, with three (maybe more) zones stuffed into it, so that tells us Nexus' completion is pretty much imminent. cyborg_ar
I thought the RSDK's release date was "Definetly never" regardless XG and Nexus' releases.
DimensionWarped
Also, there's no written documentation with the RSDK at this point. The Nexus gang have learnt it pretty much direct contact with me. Their testing has also given me feedback as to how I could make additions/improvements along the way. If I had to do the same with anyone that wanted to use it, I'd have no time whatsoever. So yeah, perhaps later on... but don't hold your breath for it just yet. Yes, he's planning to release it. When it's finished.
