Asuma
This about amonth old, but I haven't seen a topic on this. Anyway, if the movie didn't piss you off, this might (will). It's for the PSP. http://kotaku.com/5134671/dragonball-the-movie-the-game-the-screen-shots Looks like Tekken, especially this shot. http://kotaku.com/photogallery/dragonballevolutionpsp/1006224424

Ollie
A Bad Movie = A Bad Game... Well actually some might argue that a Good Movie = a Bad Game too but yeah. I won't be playing it since I won't be wanting to go see the movie, but I guess in a PSP user's eyes at least it's a new game for the PSP. =P Oh and there is also a trailer: http://kotaku.com/5154940/dragonball-the-movie-the-game-the-trailer
Aerosol
not necessarily. Some movie tie-ins are pretty awesome games. Spiderman 2 comes to mind. Besides, since this game is taking the budokai formula, not much can go wrong.
Cyber Rat
If one were to switch his eyes to 'blurry mode', ignore the character names, the game name, and turn off the move name voices, this would be a pretty solid game. I'm glad I'm not that much of a DB fan, or I would be so pissed right now.

Cyber Rat
What, dude? Really? The 'not being a DB fan' part? Well, I liked DB, watched DBZ, skipped GT, but it's just another series for me, and nothing I grew attached to. I mean, the Max Payne movie was a harder blow for me, and even then I didn't grieve that much. I'm just used to Hollywood destroying everything and not caring. But I can imagine how fans feel since I know a crapload of people that want to blow up half the continent because of the live-action movie. Spike
The live action movie isn't so bad, but making a game off of it just seems retarded. It's like they're saying "Okay, this is what the dragonball characters are going to look like from now on."
Cyber Rat
Well, concept-wise, it's nothing less retarded than making Spiderman games based on the movies. Comic -> Movie -> Game instead of Comic -> Game is essentially the same as Anime -> Movie -> Game instead of Anime -> Game
Aaron C-T
The 'not being a DB fan' part? No, I was never a fan of it either. I meant the whole part about how if you removed half the game it'd be cool. Like.. what exactly where you trying to say? I'm not sure I understood any of it. Steven M
So it's a bit like Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game.
Neo Hazard
So it's a bit like Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game. Pretty much, just on the PSP this time.
Cyber Rat
No, I was never a fan of it either. I meant the whole part about how if you removed half the game it'd be cool. Like.. what exactly where you trying to say? I'm not sure I understood any of it. I meant that the basic mechanic of the game is ok. It looks like your standard fighting game, but what most people will see in it is the awful interpretation of the DB franchise. IE, nothing is wrong with the game other than the trademarks in it. It's kinda how I (and a lot of other people) rage over Fallout 3, when there's nothing wrong with the game other than claiming to be a Fallout. Spike
After watching gameplay videos of this, it's just a super toned down Budokai game. They said that they took the Budokai engine and made it more realistic (translated, they made it boring). It's all melee moves, aside from one energy attack, the Kamehameha, which is an ultimate. They also took out flying, and since there was no jumping in the Budokai games, you never leave the ground. It's just another crappy movie-game. Aerosol
but fighting in the air was pretty much the same as fighting on the ground anyway.

DimensionWarped
It's a bad game about a bad movie about a bad anime about a comic that probably started off innocently enough, but is now so tainted with badness that it's beyond redemption.
