  1. this looks like its going to be amazing... i'll try it out tonight and tell you what i think.
  2. the phantom brave wiimake is alright.
  3. it looks good but i have a few issues.. you should make the camera perfectly center on the player. it looks a bit unprofessional to not have it that way, imo. in that first level's past parallax, maybe you could break up the the bottom part of the bushes into smaller nodes and have them scroll individually. also, maybe you could add some x scrolling to the water part? a little polish like this goes a long way.
  4. its only useful for those people that travel a lot. twitting stupid shit like getting eggs from the grocery store or something is pointless.
  5. you can remove the stipulations on those resources. they're public domain now. because of my job, i won't be working on Sonic Dash for a while. and even if i do continue in the future, i'll just make all new resources anyway. plus, Dami also doesn't mind if his creations are used for other projects.
  6. because gml is similar enough to c#, one with a good grasp on the coding fundamentals could learn it easily. there isn't a drag and drop interface though. its pure code. when i was learning it, i just used the tutorial links on the xna homepage and kept the documentation close by for reference.
  7. the sony conference impressed me very much. i think i'm going to buy a playstation asap.
  8. i'm really hoping this game has good online play. maybe something along the lines of ggpo. capcom actually licensed the lib a while back, but hasn't used it for ANYTHING yet (no lagless sf4 )
  9. eh, i played around with it for a bit. ported a good bit of that old sonic dash engine to it, but didn't feel like writing up editor programs for stuff like maps and animation (this was before i obtained REALbasic, which is pretty good at that sort of thing). anyways, if you've ever used game maker you should have almost no problem picking it up. my gripe is that the xna framework provides pretty much only high-level access to stuff hardware functions (understandable, since its pretty much a consumer's xbox 360 sdk), which can actually be good for new programmers. also the obvious lack of portability to other OSes. anyways, give it a download and play around with it.
  10. thats not enough information. what dlls were you using? when you change rooms without deactivating 3d mode, does it still freeze? try posting up your error log. it might be possible that your problem isn't related to gm's 3d at all.

  12. movie has no chance to be good if its made by that same guy who made the street fighter movie. how they somehow made the new one worse than 90s movie is beyond me.

  17. so, after a long break from the game, i've started getting into playing online again. there are a few problems though. the first is the lack of players. the second is lack of any kind of communication between matches. it's quite hard trying to teach players the optimal routes and proper use of items without text/voice chat. so, those interested in races or learning the game should post here for some matchmaking/strategy discussion.
