Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon. I was buying a bunch of games for my DS used on a spree, and I picked this one up based on the name alone. But as I started playing, one thing really bugged the shit out of me. Just look at this battle animation. IT LOOKS SO FUCKING BAD. Gah Compared to Sacred Stones (for GBA), which I loved: Limited by the GBA's hardware, yet still pleasing on the eyes. Maybe that's just me. But it absolutely ruin the DS game for me. I can't play it.

I took a few days off of work because of the holidays, so I fired up Super Mario Galaxy 2 for the first time last week. I got all of the 241 stars except for the last one, because it's pretty insanely difficult to get. Now I'm trying my hand at Ōkami. It's sort of fun, but at the same time, it's a little annoying. Like, when people talk and they make that pseudo talking noise. That, and after playing SBG2, which is gorious, Ōkami looks very, very washed out.

Flash is not the end-all-beat-all programming code. I think maybe once or twice I've gone to a website in the past year and a half on my phone and said to myself, "Oh man, I really wish I had Flash right now." And it was more so because I wanted some information that the website had that could have been easily programmed in another language. 2. I would hardly call Angry Birds a high-end app. The people that buy that kind of phone are the kind of people who use their phone for fun. They buy a phone assuming it can play a game. True, but in Apple function, it'll blanket ban devices from getting updated. (My iPod touch is a few years old, so I'm thinking that it will probably not make the cut to iOS 7.) Then the new apps that demand better performance will not be available to the older systems. It's much like the old Windows vs. Apple debate. Windows computers are very customizable, but you have many more compatibility issues with components.

When the iPhone first came out, they came up with some pretty cool apps. It might be even cooler seeing what people can do with a 64-bit processor. Oh yeah--you guys sort of breezed over this one--it has a 64-bit processor. Does your Android have one? No? The increase in available processing power might make it so someone can design an add-on and turn your iPhone into a Tricorder. Or Universal Translator. Or some other futuristic thing. It may not happen with this generation, but forward progress is good. But at the end of the day, buying an iPhone versus a Samsung is essentially like buying a Toyota over a Honda. They both do what you want to do, only in a slightly different way. There's really no point in having blind rage over something like that. It's a matter of style. To each his own. It's not affecting you in the slightest. So cool your jets.
