OverbounD
I agree Casino Street even with all of its rehashing still looks to be the most promising level in Sonic 4. I saw a lot of platforming segments along with the speed and some interesting gimmicks. Still has its issues though the obvious rehash and those swirling playing cards that you run on look as if they probably just take control away from the player. Serephim
it can take control away from the player as long as it doesn't rely on it. Thats the big issue here.

It's obvious the footage was edited a fair bit for trailer purposes. It's also just a super fancy card themed teleporter thing from Sonic Advance, nothing to see here folks
DJ espeed
Card-themed Teleporter? I never noticed any of the sort in my own time with Advance, tbh. Edit: I suppose it's safe to do a playthrough of the casino/carnival level in said game. Edit 2.1: It wasn't a card teleporter, but there was the pinball wire chutes and the actual warp teleporters... :V Oh. Edit 3: Quotes don't seem to un-italicize text that was italicized originally, so I bolded that shit.

Scarletdark
I just saw the biggest spoiler for this game (hint: has to do with the end of the game) and I think it just ruined the game for myself. I didn't think such leaks still existed on the web. I kind of feel sad now. =( However, about the casino video, even though the casino has an abundance of rehashes it does look quite fun. Platforming looks solid and the cards look pretty cool. Also, that card corkscrew thing looks pretty epic.

Better lock the thread because everyone here will just shout the same predictable fan rage about it being a Sonic 2 rehash, even though the whole freakin point of Episode 1 is to reintroduce the existing formula.. But people will be ignorant it feels like I'm half trolling
DimensionWarped
Would you rather we complain about their creative bankruptcy or about the fact that they dumbed down a difficult classic to the point that in spite of having some variation of most of it's moves, it has about the same amount of difficulty as the car thing from act 2 of EHZ? Sparks
but we've already done both, then took those, and plowed them into the ground then to freakin china
DJ espeed
The latter. We've complained a LOT about the lack of creativity. Hows about we complain about something else for a change?
DimensionWarped
but we've already done both, then took those, and plowed them into the groundthen to freakin china Yeah, but with this drill, we can pierce right through China and on into the heavens! DJ espeed
I don't know about you guys, but the whole card "corkscrew" gimmick actually made me think of this part from , with its automated path. Only difference here besides the theme and execution is the fact that you can't go back (at least, the footage from Sonic 4 would prove) and get any potential goodies, such as rings and shields. Seriously, you'd place item boxes over a bottomless pit and/or in the foreground or background? *1:27 into a video featuring Death Egg Zone Act 2 shown. luksamuk
Seriously, you'd place item boxes over a bottomless pit and/or in the foreground or background? Sonic CD's object mapping for every act made rings and item boxes appear into the ground. And I guess the common senseless floating platforms from any classic platforming game would explain that... I must admit that I liked the way Sonic appears in 2.5D on it.

Ristar
hold on. is it me... or did that casino night zone (whatever, that's all it is) trailer have a remix of Toxic Cave Zone as it's music? like the bass is note for note as well as a few of the lead brass sounds. luksamuk
@Ristar: Never noticed. Yeah... it looks like a remix of Toxic Caves' music itself, if you har the whole song. Notice also 0:36 to 0:47. ...Posting the video link, just incase.
luksamuk
Sorry for the DP, but I had to talk about this lil thingy Slingerland posted at Sonic Retro. I laughed hard at this. Balough fucks up the game himself
Dan
That trailer's music would have been much better to have in the level itself.

sonicyoda
That was bloody hysterical. So 2 weeks to release guys, who's getting it?
DimensionWarped
I'll buy it if it's 10 dollars. A penny more and I pass. Even then I almost think I'd get more enjoyment out of wiping my ass with 10 one dollar bills.
sonicyoda
I'll definately get it mainly because I know I'll get some enjoyment out of it. Nostalgia conquers all! Also, I waste loads of money on shit games regularly so this will either deliver exactly what I've expected it to (a Sonic Advance game in HD) or be a nice suprise. Win/Win.
