They've even got their own economy wherein they do things like trade paintings for dildos. It's not that furries themselves are nearly as shocking as their ability to be consistently shocking in all endeavors. And its starting to get a little frustrating trying to justify my appreciation of animal-characters such as Sonic or the fluffy little goat in my avatar when they are so strongly tied to what furries idealize. It's like their massive ability to piss everyone off spills over onto people who don't care to pretend that they are animal people yet don't want to just grow up and write off all the fun characters that caused the furries to spring into existence in the first place. It gets worse when I add that I like Fritz the Cat. Because holy shit, it's not the 70's anymore. People don't know who the fuck R. Crumb is anymore and so if they knew you read that shit but didn't really know what it was, you'd get branded in a heartbeat... whereas before furries became so horrifically prevalent, it would just elicit a few laughs. So really, thats my beef with the furry populace. Their enthusiasm has basically led to a wide-spread degradation of an entire pantheon of characters ranging from the really tame (Bugs Bunny) to the really fucked up (Fritz the Cat). If they'd have just keep the role playing in the role playing games, none of it ever would have happened... and thats why I hate furries with all the passion. They've managed to mortally wound the appeal of everything thats become associated with them. EDIT: So I watched this video... I'm assuming she's your ex. And I'm also assuming you couldn't keep the role-playing to yourself. And I really can't say how much I snickered hearing about her talking about your bullshit 'furry' music. I basically have the same problem as DW, as how I can't watch/read about animal people without being labeled. (Also, Fritz the Cat was awesome, need to find the comics.) He also got excited when The Sonic Show used some of his crappy techno for its intro. You can tell hes excited when he puts a green smiley as the topic icon. (Which I deleted.) Anyway. The problem with furries is that they take their role-playing outside of the realms where its appropriate... which as led to them becoming a widespread nuisance. Because everyone associates this what they are fond of (animals in fiction) with them, it gets tainted for everybody. I'm glad you said it was a goat DW. Incidentally, it all began with a declaration that I was going to try to freak people out by going from whatever mean looking avatar I had before this one to something even more feminine than what Ila usually uses. Since Ila knew about it ahead of time, he relayed to me a few people's reaction to it (mostly complaints).
