OverbounD
Google's new browser comes out tomorrow. Is anyone excited about this? Its supposed to be faster and have some sort of new java support that current browsers don't have. Another interesting feature is that each tab is in its own sandbox so when something on the net goes bad tabs will crash instead of the whole browser. Guest Shadix
I hope it can be a good browser and not consume 50-200mb or ram. I might be interested.
OverbounD
One thing I find about good is if they do something they do it right and better then anyone else. I'm not saying that's for sure true about this but I'm defiantly going to give it a whirl.
ila
I guess it sounds good in theory, but theory is a treacherous thing. I'll try it when I get home.
Aaron C-T
This came out of nowhere. At least for me. Find it kind of odd that they chose to put the tabs above the url bar as opposed to below, but that can probably be changed anyway. Like Ila said, it sounds good in theory, but I'd definitely have to test it out first.
DimensionWarped
It's a good opportunity to use my Quadcore processor, so I'll be giving it a whirl today. If it's awesome, I might just have a replacement for Firefox.
Rael0505
I find Firefox 3 a little uncomfortable. If I like the google browser I'll replace it!

Actually I think its an improvement, as the url bar is relative to the tab you are in. It also probably has something to do with each tab being in its own sandbox as they describe it. BTW some I changed the topic from Crome to Chrome at first I was seeing it both ways but I'm seeing Chrome now so it must be Chrome.
Aaron C-T
I haven't yet upgraded to Firefox 3, so I don't even know. I definitely like the idea of the in-browser task manager. Overall, it sounds pretty solid to me and they gave a reasonable explanation of the tab position. Lawl.
tentril
Have they released the download for this yet? This sounds pretty coo'.
Pheonix Gamma
I like the logo Aside from that, I know zilch about it.
tentril
To me, it looks like a super fancy Pokeball.
Kain
I'm with PG. Looks like Google is being backed by some serious Chozo technology for this one. Anyway, I'm obviously going to be checking it out. Firefox 3 screwed my computer over and Opera doesn't play well with certain aps.
DimensionWarped
I can't stand Firefox 3. The UI changes are just made in the perfect way to piss me off.
Pheonix Gamma
Read the THIRTY NINE page web comic google made about Chrome. Besides the fact that it told me too much information, I see what they're trying to do, but some of the stuff sounds like it'd take some getting used to (there's some kind of thing with the address bar and searches or something. It sounds like something I'd do by mistake :X Plus, I'm not sure if I'm down with how they're doing tabs.)
DimensionWarped
So when is it actually going to be here? Some time tonight or some time tomorrow? It's always ambiguous when someone posts at Midnight.

Pheonix Gamma
http://dl.google.com/update2/installers/ChromeSetup.exe I had problems clicking "accept and install", but that link right there worked. EDIT O hai im using chrome Everything is loading really fast, you guys. I was browsing a certain imageboard at crazy awesome speeds.
tentril
It only transfers bookmarks, etc. from IE. Thats dumb. So far though, this is pretty snazzy, and the search thing being the address bar is actually nice.
Kain
So I download a 475 KB download in my preferred and familiar download environment and then run an .exe which proceeds to tell me "downloading Google Chrome" for 10 minutes giving nothing but an imaginary load bar that gives me no indication of how long it will take and whether or not it's working. Not very good design, google. Let's hope the actual browser goes better.
Aaron C-T
Lawl. Of course. About 15 minutes ago that link didn't work for me.

I didn't even need to type my screen name to log on here. :[ Also, did you say you're uninstalling this because it isn't pretty enough? Anyway, typing in addresses is cool, because it searches for what I might be typing in. This thing is psychic.
Pheonix Gamma
I was joking, but a new color besides bright blue would be splendid. Ctrl+I doesn't italicize my text on forums, and my plugins aren't here :< They're growing pains, though. This thing's so fucking fast that I'll deal until whatever improvements are released by people.
tentril
It is resizable wtf. I was wondering what those dots were. Also new color would be ftw. I've always preferred the silver color windows comes with.
