Sparks
Is it really? Wow, I'm oblivious... I might use skylight's angel island grass instead. Just found it on the mfz.If I recall Skylights style correctly, its more of his own style, rather than a Genesis style, so it wouldn't mix perfectly.I dunno, too lazy to look back at it. Ayling
Zenor- Loving the grass in ex 13. Mind if I use it? And thanks so much to everyone who's helping. I must seem like a real pain...
Zenor
No, i don't mind if you use it
Sir Euan
I never said euan's grass was angel island. I was giving you an example. Euan's grass is 100% original (or so he told me), and it's not free for anyone's use.Just want to clear that up. Edit: And I love that tutorial, zenor. I never said that grass was 100% original. It's based on angel island's grass, Im think I used a bit of angel island anyway or used it as a reference, not sure =P, but I tried to make it look like AIZ grass but not, if you get what I mean. Cos this is meant to be an area of angel island falling apart, but using angel island tiles would have been cheap. edit: sorry for going off topic, was just compelled to clarify! love you guys ;D

Ayling
More- I used Zenor's grass, and mmf2's tiles to create a new bg- What do you think?

Ayling
Oh wow, that's not a bad mix. I know, right? And all this time I thought everything on the cd was junk.
Zenor
The ground isn't so "rocky" for a mountain level. that's more like, hm, sand.
Ayling
The ground isn't so "rocky" for a mountain level. that's more like, hm, sand. Exactly. It's more, jungle-like. That was my goal. compare to the original. The dirt's the closest, graphically. So, stick with this one?
Rael0505
It fits, but it needs some shape to it. It'll get bland if it's flat the entire time. Divide it into sections the way Damizean did and it'll be perfect.
Ayling
It might not have dents(it is dirt, after all), but I'll add rocks and plants sticking out in plases. Line the plants in angel island.
Spike
It might not have dents(it is dirt, after all) Halt, in the name of the law. Outside areas always have dents unless they are mechanical. Go walk around outside, there are little hills and mounds everywhere.
Ayling
Oh, ok. I'll go cut a cliff in my backyard. the whole sideview thing is unrealistic. And do you know what sticks out of the ground? Rocks and plants.
Rael0505
The dirt needs to have some shape. Like Spike said, all Sonic games have that. It'll look out of place if you don't.
Ayling
Rael- I'm gonna stick rocks out of it. That's but a base tile. I'll work off of it. Now I need gimmicks and the like.
Spike
Oh, ok. I'll go cut a cliff in my backyard. the whole sideview thing is unrealistic. And do you know what sticks out of the ground? Rocks and plants. What does viewing from the side have to do with the geological features of ground? Ditch the attitude and play a Sonic game to see for yourself. Even beach areas are not flat. Ayling
I know, spike. It's just, the dirt doesn't stick out neatly in square shapes. Rocks stick out and stuff.
