Just used Photoshop's save for web. Chose GIF and then you can choose the colour amount, it creates a palette and matches up close colours. There's similar functionality in Paint Shop Pro and programs like that.

You can get that down to 32 colours or even 16 no worries. 32 16

ahahahaha I just had a flashback moment. Took me 3 calls to get the right person in the end! aha! I would love to work on a fangame again. But just now with prepping a dissertation, 2 work placements (oh yeah) and freelance work before final year it's hard. It's summer though I'd like to help in small ways if I can. I logged in for the first time in aaaages just for this. wow I really love the look of this. And totally give my blessing (cheeesy!) or whatever to you pillaging anything you want from the remains of sxg. Bosses, levels, badniks, etc. This looks great. If you could find someone to write you genesis/megadrive sounding songs (like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCtXDkMX9Ss ) and fix the camera it would be perfect. I hate that this makes me want to get back into fangaming =(

if you're using MMF2 then you can just set your FPS to 15, record that and then speed the video up by 400% to get a nice silky smooth video? The only catch is you can't use the ingame music and sound effects, you'll need to dub some music on top. I used to do this for old SXG video cos my old computer wasn't up to the job of full speed recording.

I have to defend Twitter. I am a design student and through twitter I've made contacts with other designers, helped promote each other. I've also made contacts with people in bands/management and got work designing band tshirts, cd artwork etc. Twitter is helping me pay bills AND getting my invaluable experience with clients that will make me that much more employable when I graduate from Art School. Yes, there are people who don't use it properly but don't you don't blame the hammer if someone can't put some shelves up on a wall properly.

Hello! Yes I only really officially stepped back a few days ago now. I really would like to keep on working on it but I have so much more going on now tis just not possible what with art schooling and tshirt designing and stuff =( I am glad though that the ridiculous amount of level graphics, character and boss sprites ideas and and everything else that I worked on over the past couple years isn't going to waste, and I cannot think of 2 other people I'd rather see wrap the project up. Taxman and Nite' are pretty awesome. I am going to try and be a bit more active on these forums though, so I might pop up more often now =).

RARRR I was a drug dealer who happened to look a little bit like billy joe armstrong. =D I made fake pharmaceutical jars and filled them with skittles and m&ms! And I made stickers to give to people, costume pics followed by fun times party pics from a fish eye camera ;D and some polaroids too, we used out of date ones to get them all faded.

I have to say this demo is like one of those albums you think is alright at first but after a few goes, this is so much fun to play! It's a grower on me anyway, you seem to have captured some sonic magic cos it begs to played over and over.

I'm not gonna get into a smart arse remark war with you so count me out just now, you can either take my comment on board, heck atleast acknowledge my opinion, or be a jerk. Slinger was much more mature, he recognised that it's not the norm for a 1st zone tune, but he says he likes it that way. That's fair cos it's his game, I remember people used to moan at me because of Knuckles's palette in SXG, I kept it the same because it's the way I wanted it but I didn't say to people "you are wrong" and just toss their comments off to the side. Let's end it hear ok? Before you make yourself look more of a jerk. edit: sorry brad! You replied while I typed this. This wasn't directed at you, but hRook (pardon my type before! I am a doofus).

DW, Sonic 3 had quite upbeat music though, even when angel island got torched, that was exciting. And SCD does have few mellow tunes, but not in palmtree panic (present), not in either version. I find it hilarious how all three of you quickly reply and dismiss the comment and ignore someone else agreeing with me. I didn't say the music was bad (cos it's bloody excellent) I just said it's not the best tune in the world to get someone excited about playing.

YAY demo at last! NAY no mac version (yet) =( I did manage to get it running under emulation though so yay in the end =P Anyways, top demo! Was great fun to play and had a very very sonic cd'ey vibe to it, but with more open level design, cool. I do have some nit picks though, I hope I don't seem like I'm whinging! The title screen art is cool but if sonic is gonna waggle his finger to it properly, it looks really heard to have his hand rotating like that with his arm being still, not that big a problem sorry if I seem pushy for mentioning it. The only thing I was dissapointed with is it didn't feel like the first zone. I didn't get that buzz of wow, first zone excitement. I think it's because the first act is more basic than the 2nd, If the 1st act was more like the 2nd then it would be better, it just starts off at a plod and doesn't pick up really until act 2. Another reason it didn't have that first zone/act excitement I think is the music. Don't get me wrong it's great! But the bgm for sunset shore was too mellow, it wasn't as upbeat as the tunes for say palmtree panic, ehz, ghz, aiz etc. It felt like something I would hear about 3 levels in once I'd settled into the game. Another thing I did like though was the hang glidery gimmick, I know it's basically like the mushroom hill but adding the fans to work like the gust of wind in mushroom hill was a cool way of giving it some more control! Cool demo, just maybe not as exciting as I'd hoped =)

just finished playing the demo! really good work =D. The new zone is really cool and the transition from storm to calm in the background is really nice, it has a nice soniccy moment feel to it. And the backtrack in act 2 is very original, I like how you start the player off not at the very start of the level so you're not just repeating the same thing the whole time when you go back, kept it interesting! One thing I will say though, that boss is really annoying, artificially extending the time you spend fighting him cos you have to wait for the flash and him to come down was really just tooooo long. Otherwise, Me likes it lots.
