Shadow_Striker
@Hyper Emerson: I'll try. @Hez: Well, they all look very nice! Those effects are amazing too!
Sparks
Well, they are looking nice, I should say. Just don't forget the shading after you finish them.[qimg]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/65782036/Cookiethingy.png[/qimg] [qimg]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/65782036/Sugar_Badnik.png[/qimg] Just some more work I did. The first one is just like a certain Metropolis gimmick and the second one is a badnik. In the case you're wondering, it IS a robot, just covered in sugar. (And I know, the sky is too simple, but I'll change it later.) Liking the progress, the badnik reminds me of the rock badnik from LRZ in a way. @Shadow_StrikerGive that cookie a better texture than that pillow shading. @Topic [qimg]http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m7bn20Vpb31rzm1o7o1_400.png[/qimg] Made about half of act 1 of this zone. Does the pole Sonic is hanging on swing left and right? Looks like it does. Hez, your levels are definitely showing your skills evolving and improving from Classic 1! Delta Hedgehog
[qimg]http://share.cherrytree.at/showfile-7027/rustic_rock.png[/qimg]Do you troll me? Or do we just think that much alike? Anyways, picture heavy here, so I may add spoiler tag. Just a bunch of random screen shots to show I'm not dead. Those screenshots are pretty, but what's up with the color of the waterfall? Why did you keep if orange from the original sheet? As for the ruins, I was thinking of a Rusty Ruins type thing, except with more vibrant colors rather than having it look completely weather beaten. Trolling you is the exact opposite. The full tileset itself was inspired by Sylvania Castle. Plus the mountains in your mockup or screenshot are badly resized. @Shadow_Striker, I think you should change the shading on the candy cane floor so that the lightest shade is around the center rather than having it be at the top. Looking awesome though!
JoshJDubya
Graphics largely placeholder as I work on the engine itself. Trying to get something playable ready first to get feedback. This is a game I had started a while back but lost in a hard drive crash. Tails' High Flying Adventure is a game starring Tails in his plane. Currently working out some kinks in the lock-on missile system.
Betaman
I like how that's looking, it reminds me of the SkyChase sub game from Sonic adventure with that laser pointer thing. (If that even is one. Kinda hard to tell with those 2 red things above and below the plane.)
Shadow_Striker
@Delta: Huh... but the lighting source was like that before, although with less colors. The thing is that everything was made with that shading in mind, so changing it now would be literally a pain. I may do it later though. @JoshJDubya: I have to agree with Betaman, that reminds me of SA's Sky Chase, but in 2D of course. It's a nice idea, actually. Delta Hedgehog
I tried remaking the Roulette Roadway bricks to look like they're actually shiny, but I think I made them TOO shiny.
Sparks
Yeah I would tone down on the shines a bit, looks like a clutter.

TailsSena
I agree with Sparks, actually. What I would do is use fewer shine lines, but blur them a bit.
justin123
Finally got bitmap font support working decently. Now I can put together a nice hud to show it off.

Delta Hedgehog
I've been coming up with some new ideas for certain tiles. Improvements? Suggestions?
Core
It looks nice. But maybe you could try adding some lines to connect the ivy leaves so that it looks more like ivy?
Sparks
Well you are improving on the "multi-layer" aspect of level tiles. Maybe change the ice levels tiles since your speed level already is using glass blocks?
Delta Hedgehog
The ice you're talking about is actually glass, for Flooded Foundation Zone. Plus I know Supernova Satellite has missing sections, but that's where tubing is supposed to go.
Shadow_Striker
@Delta: Well, they are looking amazing! Only the incomplete one is bad because... well, it is incomplete. But once you finish it, I'm sure it will look just as nice as the others. As for me... well, let's say Act 1 is complete. It's not too long, you should be able to complete it in more or less 1:30 if you do not explore the stage. But hey, it's the first act of the game, generally it isn't too long. I also need to change the Title Card and this End of Act "text". I still didn't implement that chimney idea as well, since it ends up helping the player in this act... It will be in Act 2 though, but I may need to put the chimney below the furnace in some points because of the way I design the levels. And yeah, that's pretty much everything. Spike
Looks good to me! Except palm trees don't really strike me as candy themed. If you want something tree-like to decorate the level, how about candy canes or something?
Shadow_Striker
I actually didn't make the palmtrees candy cane themed because the floor is already made of candy canes, and I thought it would be a little repetitive... so I just recolored it and tried to make the coconut (or whatever is that round thing) look like a candy. But I can change the palmtree trunk to candy cane if that is a problem. I don't really want to trash the palmtree idea completely since it is a mix of a tropical and candy level. Sparks
Chocolate coconuts and gummi trees. :V
Shadow_Striker
Nice idea, I'll try that and see if I can do something nice looking. If I can't, I'm just going for the candy cane trunk. Anyway, a friend of mine made those: The Title Card is still similar to the Worlds Delta one, but it will do for now, I guess. (Also, Candy Paradise is probably a temporary name while I don't think of something better.)
Delta Hedgehog
There was something about Vehement Volcano's tiles that irked me. I think it was the lack of detail in the rocks, so I tried something different. Yes?
