Strife
The building on the right was actually in the foreground, but, yeah, it does kinda clash. xD; Though, the thing about this stage is that it's my answer to the typical casino-type stages found in Sonic games, and the second act takes place in a shopping mall, so I don't want that to feel too out-of-place because of the buildings looking too old. Maybe since the stage has a ton of vertical space, I could have this background be the top and then slowly transition into a more city-like layout as the player goes down? Also, that color swap is lovely Pedro. <3 I will definitely use it!
Sparks
Only thing I would do is clean up the pixels on the sky and the background buildings, some parts look like they were resized in MS paint.

Sparks
I concur! Only downside is the high quality and art style of the foreground clashes with the sky and clouds.

Strife
Hnnnnngh please make backgrounds for Freedom Planet ;A; xD Joking. Anyway, I could swear I've seen that background somewhere else. DA, perhaps? Or TIGSource forums? (If not, you should post them there because people would go crazy over them. You might learn a few things too.) Streak Thunderstorm
Yeah, it was DA. I'm not 100% custom spriting these bgs. I'm taking bits and pieces from everywhere and recommissioning them. I obviously have to edit the shit out of them so its not like I'm just copying and pasting. Most of the bgs don't even halfway tile. I cut and paste and spend hours in photoshop making things tile by basically drawing in missing pieces. Serephim
Regardless, they look amazing. I think as long as the original creators dont have an issue with it, that's a pretty good way of doing something. Eventually you'll be able to do it from scratch. It does look like it was drawn from an actual reference though. It has a real natural feel to it. That said it does clash with the style of the background, but i honestly wouldnt worry about it. In the grand scheme of things it'd hardly be an afterthought.

Duckboy
Not to take away from it cause it looks awesome, but do the waterfalls animate? Wow, they are way better than before! Nice work, Delta! After some work, I redid the cake tile from zero: [qimg]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/65782036/CAAAAAAAAKE.png[/qimg] Heavily inspired by Zool. Actually, I did that while looking at it and trying to replicate . lovin dis
Streak Thunderstorm
Yes, all the waterfalls are animated. My biggest issue was making the background tile with all that animation going on.
Delta Hedgehog
MUST. RUN. CROSSCHECKS TO PROVE YOU MADE THOSE! THEY'RE AMAZING. TOO AMAZING! Now that I've calmed down, I made a new VVZ background. Credit and big thanks to Phoebius over at Sonic Retro for letting me use his lava pit from Blue Mountain. P3DRO, I got the glow from on the mountains, however having the lava run down the mountain naturally I can't figure out. EDIT: Whaddup?

Serephim
when it starts looking that neat, it almost feels wasted when it's put into a fangame

Strife
when it starts looking that neat, it almost feels wasted when it's put into a fangame Or, at the very least, a fangame without original sprites. Using an original spriteset would just about be the icing on the cake for this, for me at least. (Original in the sense that it's not the Genesis or Advanced sprites ripped from official Sonic titles.)
Delta Hedgehog
If I ever make a sequel to SEOD, or a new fangame in general, I do plan on using 100% original graphics. I'm getting better at making original stuff but I'm not gonna start now cause then I'd have to replace all the other graphics that aren't original, which would be a hassle. OverbounD
Its been a while since I posted anything of mine in this thread. I've been working on some planets for an undisclosed project. I made the textures in Photoshop and rendered from Maya. I'm sure they aren't at a professional level, but they will work for my purposes. That said I'm open to critiques. Delta Hedgehog
Hmmmmm. Got a Ristar thing going on here? They look good, especially the second one,m but they remind of something I'd see on the Saturn, or a Windows 98 game especially the first one. OverbounD
That's a good thing. I was going for a prerendered 3D feel from the mid 90s. Like some of the old RTS's you see. Of course final versions will be smaller.
Delta Hedgehog
Ah Cool. The first planet made me think of that crappy looking 1998 SRB2 opening, The one where the meteor looked like a turd.

Delta Hedgehog
Well for the style he's going for, the planets are good. I'm just saying the fact that they're based off 90's type stuff, it looks good. Plus you can't deny that SRB2 intro has hilariously bad.
