@Azukara: I don't want to be rude but... Is that minimap really necessary? I mean, it ocupates to much space on the screen, it don't even show any useful information. The camera on it looks preeeety odd, with some bizarre bugs like that at 0:47 at the video. The minimap also it's not really a minimap, it's a "bird vision"... And because of that you will be able see all the textures, objects, effects and even Sonic itself. Pretty cool? Not at all. It's confusing as hell, pointless and annoying. Sonic goes under some object and what? He simply disappears on the map. I mean, the point of the minimap is to show the player where the hell is he. At least, if you're going to stand with it, make some indication for Sonic when he's under something. I know that the minimap now looks a good idea, but when you guys get to a phase when it's all about developing levels, puting enemies and objects... If you're not planning to make town stages, or a RPG-game, you'll see that the minimap is useless. Because you'll always have rings/enemies to point you into the right way. Btw, awesome model and very smoth animations. Good work.

@Blue Emerald: It looks awesome. Infact I would only change the color of the tree and the tower chess piece... That pink color is kinda mixing up with the background. You can try making it more bright or change the color to blue.

@RedEchidna: Put some extra details on the squares. Like othershapes and put some colors on it insted of this endless purple-grey square 'sea'.

@Cstyler: It looks awesome. My only critcism about it is the rounded-edge on the top of the C. And that terribly looking shadow on the top of the logo.

@Strife: I don't have much to say just that it looks pretty awesome. Please say that the aurora it's not fixed at the background itself and that it moves slowly and smooth *-*

You're making your game in MMF2? Because there's an extension for it called Distortion that may create an awesome distortion effect for the water.

Thank you for all the positive feedback, everyone, especially with regards to my aurora background. ^_^ I really appreciate it.

To answer your question, P3DR0, it's not animated unfortunately. I would agree, though, that it'd be pretty cool if it was.

Also, I like the Sonic Adventure 4 logo in your signature, Cstyler. :3 Epic.

Yay, thanks! I got more of stuff like that: Sonic Adventure Zero and Sonic Adventure -1.

And about your christmas game. I've seen the screenshots some days ago and I was like 'Whoa, I can imagine how cool it is going to be in action'. Now I've downloaded the game and I really enjoyed playing it.

@Felik: Well they're kinda flying too low. I hope that this is a scene of they landing, or something like that. Sonic's sprite looks weird too... I don't know how to explain... It's ok and it's not ok at the same time. I think that is fault of Tornado's sprite. I've never liked too much that Sonic Adventure's Tornado.

About the background, it looks nice, really nice. :D

@RedEchidna: I'm with LH. Insted of putting the full Sonic at the tile, maybe you should just put his head. Or Robotnik's head. :)

You misunderstood me, I've used the word "but" instead of "put". I meant that he should've used a background instead of the blue color. Just to give it some notions on what the level could be. Usually works with me.

Oh, my mistake infact... I'm with Hybrid35, not LH.

It does look a bit crowded.

Try making sonic (Shape) just a head or taking the whole Sonic body out.

@Strife: The christmas demo was pretty nicely put together and quite fun too. I'm only at the second stage though so I can't say too much about it. I'm pretty impressed by the animations though.

I did feel however that the health system was vague. I understand you are only notified about health when it is low, though I usually prefer to monitor my status even at higher amounts. The recharge system also was weak in regaining my strength, and I'm not sure how good it is to set up a recharge system that can fully heal you if you're patient enough rather than having you rely on items so that keeping your strength up is actually a challenge.

And one more thing. Your controller support is quite limited. You cannot use the controller to progress through conversation currently, and the weapon charge didn't work.

Ah, thanks for reminding me, Lark! I had gotten some flak for the limited joypad support (which, admittedly, I cannot test myself since I don't have a joypad), along with some other gameplay issues, and I uploaded a new version yesterday:

This version doubles the regeneration rate of the stardust meter, makes enemies flash when hit, doubles the damage of Violet's charge attacks, and alters Indigo's dash, among other things. There's a full list of changes in the text file. Also, I attempted a fix for the joypad, so please let me know if it worked. ^_^

As for the health system, I was mostly inspired by the Halo series in the sense that you can stay alive as long as you know when to back out and allow yourself time to heal. This is mostly to give the feeling that the player character isn't a meat shield that can survive multiple rockets to the face. xD You may have a point about the vagueness, though, and I've been wondering if I should actually display the player's health onscreen instead of using the heart symbol when it's below halfway.

Anyway, I'm glad you're enjoying it so far. ^_^

I know the minimap isn't exactly a minimap. Don't worry about it though, we were just too lazy to get rid of it. :V We aren't gonna use it, as we are just currently keeping it as an example for the programmers as to how we will manage the camera functions.

Tl;dr don't worry about it, we aren't using it anymore.

As far as a new thread goes, are threads for non-fangames allowed? I've always been kinda fuzzy on that one.

Woah, did you manage to get ahold of Sonic Unleashed animations or something of the sort? Because those are the best fan animations on a sonic model i've ever seen.

That looks really, really promising. That engine needed some severe attention to turning mechanics. Im looking forward to a playable demo.

@ Strife, your game was really fun to play. Great thing u have going there.

LH, that's a really neat trap idea for the second act. It kinda reminds me of Mystic Cave's gratuitous spike placement, though not nearly as cheap. xD Also, does the background scroll more fluidly yet?
