I should say, I have no words to say how nice your game is looking. It's simply wonderful! And the sketches are very nice too, although I found Carol's left hand (her left, no the one on the left of the image) to be a little strange. It may be only me, though.

Anyway, everything is very well done. If you continue like this, it will be spectacular!:tgrin:

I've been dealing with a rather annoying error that happens on some computers in which the game won't launch because it "cannot load joystick2.mfx." You can find the full details here:

I'm hoping I can find a definite solution for this, because it's something that could affect other projects using the latest build of Sonic Worlds.

That's the same error I had when I tried to play Blazehedgehogs demo awhile back, and after trying those same "fixes."

Do you still get that error when trying to play? If so, someone from the Clickteam forums suggested making sure that xinput1_3.dll was in your system folder. Try that out, or see if putting it in the game folder solves the issue.

Really? Without you attempting anything at all? That's actually what happened to one of my other testers. xD That had the error message initially, but it fixed itself with no effort on their part. Whiiiich doesn't help me, in any case. ;_;

Whoo, August 6th, a birthday present!

Btw, not sure if you've answered this, but I'm too lazy to check: do you plan to replace rings and such in order to make the game more original. I could imagine rings being replaced by orbs of light, so I'm curious as to what's happening with the more-Sonicy elements of Freedom Planet.

Rings have been replaced with crystal flower petals. Likewise, springs have a more crystallized design and act more like energy boosters than metal bumpers.

I'd like to release a playthrough of the demo some time before SAGE so that you guys can compare all of the changes since the last video. There's definitely a lot of work that's been done since then. I have complete confidence now that once the SFX rights are dealt with, the game can be distributed free from copyright issues. ^_^

So I think I may have found a solution to that Joystick 2 problem. I tried using a computer that received the error message, then I downloaded xinput1_3.dll and put it in the windows/system32 folder. That seemed to do the trick... so it would appear that I just need to include that DLL with the game.

Carol is going to become a playable character in the future, with her own set of abilities that are separate from Lilac's. She's kinda glitchy right now, so I'm not sure if she can make it into the SAGE demo.

However... if the game's Facebook page receives 1000 Likes before July 24th, I will include her in the demo, glitches or not. (Though obviously I would push myself as much as possible to get her finished. xD) You can find out more by clicking the link in my last post.

I should also have a new video up around the end of the month for both characters.

Hahaha page just went up and you have likes from two of the biggest up-and-coming game audio people from Berklee. One's actually giving a talk on game audio for PAX Dev next month, even. I'll try to help spread the word too.

Ooh, which one is it? I do know Akash since he's helping me out with sound designs. Also, my voice actress for Lilac is from Berklee, and she actually heard of the project from him, so it's a cool coincidence that I picked her for the voice. She's been a really big help with getting the word out there. ^_^
