JetHawk95
Thanks for the advice. I already have some stage concepts down. Plus I've added three more stages to my original 7. They are Neon Midnight Zone, Urban Metropolis Zone, and Radiant Comet Zone. Well could you update your site? As the music composer I kinda need to know what the Levels are like... Talking about the soundtrack, Its just about complete, It needs music for Demonic Core but has just about everything else. So yeah, some details on the 3 new stages would be nice. StealthyMC
No loops? Usually when I put the tiles into the game, I combine that real big ramp with a couple of block tiles and just flip the thing over for the other two pieces. Then I just add some grass on top. You'll see what I mean when you see the game in action.
Delta Hedgehog
@SonicYoda, I forgot to add the loop pieces to the sheet. @JetHawk95, I can't right now because I'm away from my regular computer, and I have to use the family computer, which is slow and is always low on memory. But anyway, Neon Midnight is basically your average Casino level filled with lights, bumpers, and compulsive gambling. Urban Metropolis is a dark, desolate city, similar to Crisis City, only without the lava and everything exploding. Radiant Comet is a giant floating structure, similar to Sky Sanctuary, but in space, and it's made from Space rock. I'm also working on make a different loop, similar to the one in Green Hill. Delta Hedgehog
I have now crowned myself as "SFGHQ's Most Indescisive Member". But anyways, I've changed the grass again, the grass in the mockup above was just the Green Hill grass, layered with different shades of green. I tried to do something a bit more original. While still having that Green Hill vibe, it has many qualities which make it more original and a bit more unique.
OverbounD
That looks pretty awesome. But delete the top layer of dark green.
Delta Hedgehog
Tried a new shading style to make it looks les Green Hill-ish.
BlazefireLP
Doesn't seem to match the rest anymore.
Delta Hedgehog
Is it because of the shading or the coloring? I'm not particularly happy with the colors.
BlazefireLP
Probably the shading. It's a totally different style.
Serephim
it's fine. In fact, all of them look great to me. Please worry about something other than the tile graphics for a single stage. You will never, ever, EVER get anywhere past demo phase. A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad. A delayed fangame, however, is neither, because so few people care in the first place, and a rushed fangame is a fangame nonetheless. You might as well get your stuff out and learn from the mistakes afterwards, stop catering to every squabble you hear.
BlazefireLP
I agree with Sereph. You really should slide your focus onto the more important aspects of the game. Like the game's style, engine, concepts or designs.
Delta Hedgehog
Okay. I'll stick with the other one. BTW, However made this kinda of loop should die.
BlazefireLP
Why might that be?
Delta Hedgehog
It was one of hardest, most time cosuming things I've ever made... I'm lying. Wasn't that hard to do.
snow toilet
Something I noticed is you should have the grass extending inside of the loop and get smaller and curved. Maybe also putting some texture in the loop so it doesn't look like it was cheaply made in paint.
sonicyoda
Something I noticed is you should have the grass extending inside of the loop and get smaller and curved. Totally agreed on that front. As for the grass I prefer this one: http://i836.photobucket.com/albums/zz281/darkspikes598/newgrassmoreoriginal.png You really needed to stop putting in last minute edits. Get it all working first. I'm starting to see why you didn't get a demo into this year's SAGE. Also, Delta: It was one of hardest, most time cosuming things I've ever made...I'm lying. Wasn't that hard to do. What was even the point of saying that? Just makes you look a bit of a tosser.
JetHawk95
If this game gets scrapped because you got bored of making it, AKA Spending months on one level. Ima be pretty pissed... I didn't compose a full soundtrack for the shits and giggles. I understand its your game and you shouldn't let people change it for you. But there's a difference between taking good advice and just been stubborn. When we didn't make it into SAGE, You didn't just let yourself down by not having the graphics ready and constantly revamping them. You let me down and you let SuperBliz down as well. Don't get me wrong this isn't a lecture. I <3 This game, and so do a lot of people on this forum. The name, The Music, The art style. Everything is really nice and this game has a lot of potential. Just there is a difference in been a perfectionist and creating one set of level sprites in 5 months....
