Daniel
I know. I am still debating whether to change the resolution. If so, then the HUD will be edited or changed completely. Mostly likely just edited. Can't you just...you know...move the 'Score' part? The widescreen and graphics still look great btw.
Apricity
I don't think widescreen suits it tbh.
BlazefireLP
Agreed.
Delta Hedgehog
Eh, like I said, still debating.
Hobbes
Doesn't bother me, to be honest. Just add less horizontal scrolling on the camera.
Delta Hedgehog
Tried to re-sexify the parallax. Added a new sky dither and new grass. I'm thinking I should add some palm trees to the grass in the background.
BlazefireLP
I say you should add the palm trees.
StealthyMC
I say you should add the palm trees. I agree, adds more.... something to the background. I don't know what is, but it will look better if you added it.

Delta Hedgehog
Perhaps something like this?
Apricity
That looks better. Sometihng even sexier would be slightly smaller but dark mountains behing the ones you have now. ;D<
Delta Hedgehog
Good idea. I'd add waterfalls to the moutains, but Game Maker doesn't support animated background pieces.
Apricity
It supports drawing animated sprites.
StealthyMC
Good idea. I'd add waterfalls to the moutains, but Game Maker doesn't support animated background pieces. It actually does, but instead of drawing backgrounds in the view, use sprites instead.
Delta Hedgehog
Well If someone knows how to do that, enlighten me. Cause I have no fucking clue.

Serephim
It could be due to the lack of enemies and items and such. Maybe I'll have widescreen as the default resolution, and make an option to choose. I much prefer the widescreen, myself. Different strokes for different folks. More space than that super tiny resolution that most games are in is always welcome. I can't possibly see how a bit more viewing space could be a bad thing, unless you personally don't feel like filling the scenes.
Mr.S
I like widescreen better because you can see more. And been able to see more is always a advantage.
Apricity
I felt sonic was offcentre and the hud looked funny in widescreen. Get it fixed and I'm sure it will be fine. I'm not really in favour of it if it's done sloppily.
Serephim
It looks like the start of the stage in that widescreen shot. The camera can't center sonic if the center is off the level.
Apricity
Oh right I didn't look at the time. Yeah ignore the whole off-centre thing.
Delta Hedgehog
My attempt at an original 32x palmtree. Could use some dithering and some fixes here and there, but overall, I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.
Delta Hedgehog
Updated. Added some random broken areas to make them looks more like palm leaves.
BlazefireLP
The shadowing on the top left leaf looks slightly off but other than that it looks nice.
