Slingerland
I also saw that at EVERY store I passed by. I called the Target and for the Wii launch, they said they have employees working outside so that NOBODY loiters in front of the store until 7 PM on 10/18. Once that happens, a double velvet rope line forms (21 units at this store). At 7 AM, one hour before opening, the manager will come out and hand out tickets, soda, and popcorn. At 8 AM, it's Wii time!
Koray
Since GameStop pwned my pre-order, I have to resort to target as it is my best bet. My local target has 91 units, which is good. I'm going to park in the closest spot to the doors, then at 6:55 run for the front door.
Slingerland
Sounds like a plan. Mine is eerily similar. This guide I found calls Target your "second chance" rating. I also would call it a wild card, because a majority of the hardcore crowd will be at Circuit City, Best Buy, or GameStop.
Koray
Hmm.. I have a Costco Business membership, which does let me shop early, but they sell EVERYTHING in bundles and I don't want to drop much more cash. If it ends up being 100 or so more, I wouldn't buy it. Then I'd be ____ed.
Blues
Run for the door? You risk getting the ____ beat out of you by the guys waiting there since 10 pm last night, assuming the wii is as popular as the ps3. They will be handing out tickets BEFORE letting you in the store, which is what ruined my initial plan.
Koray
..I suppose you didn't read the part where he said they WON'T be letting people camp. They will allow them to form a line at 7.
Slingerland
Which is the best idea ever, in my opinion. This way, I don't waste two days of my life, just one night and the subsequent 8 hours of sleep. I'll still camp in my car in the parking lot and get out at 6:55 PM. [EDIT] I just found this: Obviously fake, btw. Still ____ing awesome, though.
1LT Worm
That would be totally bad ass. If Nintendo came out with that, I'd buy the Wii version of TP.

Thats just one Target. Plenty of other Targets dont have such a rule, it seems to be up to the manager. also hobos
Slingerland
Yeah, always call your store, because all the internet guides will be wrong for certain regions due to managerial preferences.
shadowgoten
Pfft slingerland, and Koray, just remember who's playing the damn thing while you guys are in line ;D. I'll be home by 12:20 am EST at the most on Sunday morning On the real though, good luck getting your units. We can make a friend codes thread and get everyone registered with each other. DimensionWarped
I totally saw real cases for Wii games today when I went to Rhino. They only have 13 Wiis, but they are midnight releasing, so I might try there.
Slingerland
Yes, SG. I will think of you and Wesker...playing your Wiis already. I'm bringing my DS in the hopes that others will, so we can have multiplayer madness. With the wireless connectivity, I don't have to leave line...yesssss. I was doing some "Wii-connaisance" (lolz) at stores to see how they are handling the PS3 release, because it will be similar to the Wii (except with more units, ftw). There were frat boys outside the Target I'm planning to attack. Target got security out there, kicked them off the premises, and said, "Not until 7 PM!" It has been confirmed for me...Target is a bullseye.
Aaron C-T
"That would be totally bad ass. If Nintendo came out with that, I'd buy the only version of TP." Fix'd. And damn you all with your money and whatnot. Damn 'ed!
DimensionWarped
I've also decided to try for a midnight release. A small chain store near me has 13 and are midnight releasing, so if I get there reasonably early on Saturday, I'll be able to do the SG thing and laugh at you guys. Even Slinger. I'll need to find a couple good books though... maybe some silly puzzle things. Afterall, I'm sure you all remember how EBGames looted my corpse and got my DS. ila
I'm helping someone get his Wii in case Target doesn't allow target employees to. Basically it involves him passing off a gift card to me and then I go buy a Wii and stuff for him. I'd buy one myself but I have bills and plus I'm still saving up for a new dancepad. Slingerland
I'm still saving up for a new dancepad. I still pledged you $10. Don't worry. Post Wii purchase, you'll see that sh*t.
Koray
Ila I need to talk to you, I still mean what I said.
Pheonix Gamma
Played Excitetruck the other day. Totally awesome, though steering was tough (I was all over the place) I also held the controller in the standard fashion, just to see how Zelda or something might feel. I can totally see what all the fuss is about. EDIT:700 POSTS 4 ME
