Asuma
Maybe. One or my friends is using my dad's comp. Ever since then, my dad's computer is infected with spyware. It's only on the guest account. My friend has onlly been doing myspace, far as I know. Everytime the internet account pops up, an warning about spyware comes up and like a porn picture comes up. I dunno if it's linked to myspace or not.

Guest Shadix
There was a spyware thing associated with a video... Can't recall the link though. Tough luck for whatever he did. Also tough luck for not having spybot or a firewall properly set up.
USC
Ah, but what if it's gay porn? Anyways, I've heard that spyware's pretty bad on MySpace. I don't use it much, so I wouldn't know. Does your friend have Spybot or anything installed on his computer to clean it?
BRPXQZME
Well, why the heck not just fix it? Also, don't use Internet Exploder where it isn't called for. Which is pretty much just Windows Update for most things worth looking at.
Aaron C-T
Exactly. Get Mozilla Firefox. I've seen the future.. and.. that was in it.
Pheonix Gamma
:: PG uses Internet Explorer mostly, visits Myspace daily to keep in contact with long distance friends, and has no spyware on the family desktop or laptop:: methinks your friend's been looking at porn, and that probably cause porn-related spyware. pourcelaine
Same here, I use IE, visit mysapce for the same reason, and I'm pretty good on the spyware. I dont get porno spyware unless my father decides to go look at some
MidimanNull
There's an ad infected with a certain virus only viewable in IE. The ad is a Windows Metafile ( WMF ), which automatically downloads spyware, the only way to bypass it is. 1.) Do not use IE 2.) Get the patch that disables the WMF exploit. stolen from : http://www.neowin.net/index.php?act=view⊂=c_reply&id=34222&cid=474739
DimensionWarped
I stand by what I've said since the beginning of MySpace's conception. It's just some really lame fad bull____ that has no real purpose. It's an overglorified homepage host with and an automatic cheesy guest book feature that for some reason caught on. And whatever the f*** Helio is... bitching about how it can use myspace while traveling... I have news for them, just because your phone can use a friggen internet site doesn't mean it isn't just another piece of ____ phone. I've seen plenty of phones with mobile internet services on them... the whores.
BRPXQZME
Exactly. Get Mozilla Firefox. I've seen the future.. and.. that was in it.If the future is slower and more RAM-clogging, I'm staying in the past with my Opera. Extensions? Makes it even slower!Yeah, to tell the truth, it's mostly porn that gives you porn ads. @DW: Helio has a hard sell, the only real benefit is Korean-friendly features across the U.S. AFAICT... the Myspace thing is pretty much the only thing you can pimp up with English users. Oh, and Myspace is only going to be around to piss you off more because Rupert Murdoch owns it. Whatever.
DimensionWarped
Yeah, well, I can open an IE tab in Firefox I bet your Opera can't use Windows Update without having to go open an IE window
MidimanNull
DW wins. IETab + All-In-One-Sidebar + Adblock(FiltersetG) + Fasterfox = Firefox > Opera All opera does is BT and Widgets. BT = uTorrent Widgets = Avedesk
BRPXQZME
I haven't used Windows since May. Also, screw your features, I'm talking speed here.
DimensionWarped
Oh, and the iexplore.exe process doesn't start when using IE tab either. And just to clarify, speed is overrated when you have enough of it to start an extension rich Firefox in less than a second. I've also got Gmail skins and a highlighter tool to go along with all of the stuff Midiman said.
BRPXQZME
Efficiency is not overrated. I've been using Firefox since it was Phoenix (not to mention Netscrape) and have yet to find a darn good reason to use it.

Andrew
But that's only because you don't use Fx. I have Opera as well and Fx and use them interchangably. Because I can.
Asuma
Um...this was my dad's computers. The guest account doesn't have anything. So I installed Spybot. Hopefully, I can get rid of it. I may stop using myspace..... EDIT: Just tried it, doesn't work. Spybot got rid of them, but it's still there, I think I'm goin to try and clean the cookies. Andrew
Myspace doesn't give viruses. I've been using it for a while now and I'm clean as a whistle. Try not browsing porn and bad websites while using IE.
