ila
I definitely like where this is going. After the post icons, what other bits are left before we have a working version?
GSF
Once these topic icons are done (the set is quite big, but it's easy to do once the design is confirmed) I'd say we're ready for a working version. Last thing would be the header. A regular rectangle as a banner... or something like the old phpBB skin.
ila
While I enjoyed the old skin and its rollover header, I think we're probably best off sticking with a simple header.
Cyber Rat
I like the current SFGHQ logo on the forum. The font reminds me of American McGee's Alice.
Zenor
Here are some examples of the final button design. I'm still on the post icon dilemma... Samples soon. I think it'd be better if the paper on "add reply" was blue too. So it would go better with the others, in my opinion.
ila
I like the current SFGHQ logo on the forum. The font reminds me of American McGee's Alice. I assume you're referring to the dark theme, which oddly enough was the reason why I decided to push for a new skin in the first place. It doesn't represent SFGHQ, maybe Slit Forewrists GRAWHW HQ but not SFGHQ... which is actually a name I don't like either but I can't change that. Maybe the theme is the reason everyone is so mean to newbies. We should put some bright pink and make an Amy version of the skin. Everybody would be nice then. On a more serious note. I agree that the theme seems kinda out of place. I still like the font, just not on this site.
GSF
@Zenor: Hm... good point. I'll edit that. Any suggestions for the banner are welcome.

Samples soon. Definitely looks good. Really. Also, for the logo change, why don't use the regular ol' logo? EDIT: Just make the post icons the little pieces of paper? GSF
I pretty much decided on the post icons. Due to the large amount of variety in the set, it's better to leave it simple. Paper n' dots it is. In the banner... I guess I'll remake that logo, make it bigger.
Slingerland
Definitely looks good. Really. Also, for the logo change, why don't use the regular ol' logo?[qimg]http://sonicfangameshq.com/skin/logo.gif[/qimg] EDIT: Just make the post icons the little pieces of paper? I do think that we should keep the tried and true logo, but do you think someone can update its look a bit? It's looking incredibly dated. Some Web 2.0 gloss shit or something. Razzle dazzle, motherfucker. I 'on't know.

ila
As much as I like the 1st one, its a tad big I think. I say #2. Nice job on both of them though.
Spike
Clean. While both are coma-inducing levels of badass, I just think clean would fit a forum better. I can't believe I haven't repped you up yet, gsoft. Here ya go.
GSF
Thanks for the comments! Well yeah, the one with the swirl thing won't fit well. EDIT: Here's a screenshot of a (shortened) header from the old phpBB SFGHQ, I accessed it through the Wayback machine: Picking up on that concept, and putting the main buttons at the top, here's a quick mock-up of what I'm planning: The dark green outline indicates a place where we could fit the login box/pm count. That requires some template edits though, and I'm not pretty sure on how it'd work. However, I'll look around for a tut or something.

GSF
Well... I'm mostly done with the graphics, sans the banner and the header templates. The skin is built over the default vB 3 skin, I suppose you still have the default skin template file... right? I don't know much about how to edit the templates, so unless we get a premade one, or modify it with some help, we're left with the default header, and a simple rectangular banner. I'll search for some premade template XMLs and see if I can find something that fits. Meanwhile, I have the graphics all done and packed in the respective folders, along with the CSS. I can already send it to you, Ila. This way we can have a 'preliminary beta' of the skin.
