null1024
I know it sucks, but this is my 2nd attempt ever (my first attempt looked like a sonic snowman) D-load attachment. (3ds/An8) Pic also attached And if you don't have 3d Studio, get anim8or at http://www.anim8or.org/
LarkSS
Pic please? And what format is it in?
null1024
It's in 3ds and an8 formats.
LarkSS
That's part of what I asked for. I downloaded it, but I couldn't view it. I'll give comments if you post some pics with multiple views.

Chao Helper
Well, all I'll say is it's better than what I could do...I don't know how to use 3D rendering programs though soooo...

LarkSS
I'll be completely honest. It looks like you used blue hotdogs for his spikes. Couldn't you fix that up?
null1024
I'll be completely honest. It looks like you used blue hotdogs for his spikes. Couldn't you fix that up? Honestly, I tried. It dosen't look pretty. (mainly because i smoothened them)
Twimfy
Lol, looks like you made it with balloons. Well at least you're trying, practice makes perfect however it seems as if you are biting off more than you can chew, I recommend starting with something like http://www.wings3d.com/, where you can make effective but basic looking models quite easily. DimensionWarped
Look dude, what you really need to do isn't make more primitives while modeling but rather edit existing verticies and extrude surfaces to create more. Thats probably one of the most basic concepts of modeling, so keep with it and you'll get there.
null1024
ok, i'm trying to work it in Wings...

Koray
Like.. I understand if you posted it here for critisicm and help. But to post it as a final, and distribute it no less? eeeh. I suppose if you are brand new its a good start but you have tooooons of work to go.

I use the program profusely, because it's one of the most intuitive programs I have ever used. despite the UV map system being a little awkward, it's pretty amazing. sure, I use 3DS Max for finishing touches, extra UV map work, and rendering, but it's just not intuitive for modelling work that requires subdivision and extrusion. DimensionWarped
I don't see how it's not. I never had any trouble figuring out either of those concepts in Max.
null1024
I decided to redo the model (i didn't use wings, it hurts my brian) Here's the new one (pictures included in zip)
SefirothDB
No no no no no... Start easy: pick the primitive that resembles most the target (say you're doing the head: use a [geo]sphere). Then, enter polygon editing mode and cut the model in half. Bilateral symmetry ftw. Now, preferably with a nice sample to compare, start cutting the primitive... subdivide, extrude, etc. etc. to match your target. It is much simpler if you create the parts of the model individually, then merge them all. But most importantly, don't try to do a full-fledged model right off the bat. Take something simpler, gather practice. Follow some tutorials.
Carl Winslow
I don't see how it's not. I never had any trouble figuring out either of those concepts in Max. When a program likes adding vertices in odd places, and when you try to get rid of them they leave holes in the face, I consider that not very intuitive. Sef: he's using Anim8or. that program can't do much of anything like that, to be perfectly honest. it uses a text based mesh edit system for advanced features, something that is rediculously hard to work with. he'd be better off switching programs, because anim8or is not worthwhile for anything serious. null1024
Next problem: Opening any 3ds in Wings that isn't shrunken to minimum size makes the model REALLY big.
DimensionWarped
Yeah, thats just because Max (by default) uses a wierd scale when compared to other modeling programs. @Gungriffon: You shouldn't edit in mesh mode, you should first convert to poly.
