SupaChao
Well, my schools internet network has been getting tweaked recently, as they banned many, many more sites. Prior to this, we used a site called www.safeforwork.net that would let us goto all the blocked pages. Just recently the admin's found out about safeforwork and blocked it. As a result, they also went hunting, and blocked many other CGI Proxy services. However, I found one https://www.vtunnel.com Vtunnel is a very slow, unreliable service though. So I'm requesting help in finding a CGI Proxy service that will allow me to browse sites that have been blocked. Anything like safeforwork.com with a reasonable speed is fine. Having trouble finding any myself.
Pheonix Gamma
uhh...my friends used to use FoxyProxy (.net? or .com?) at high school. But it can be kinda wonky (can't really log into many sites)
hRook
Put firefox portable on your thumbdrive, duh.
UltimateSonic
Yes, at my school firefox bypasses the firewall.
SupaChao
Thats the thing dude; my buisness course classroom, is outdated. By which I mean, it belongs back in 1998. We have windows 98, can't support external drives. I store Opera on my archos, but I can't boot the drive on the pc's because their so damn old. So thats technically out of the picture. I will try foxyproxy though.
shadowgoten
http://kproxy.com we used to use this all the time at work, fast and reliable, with a few popups. They started banning it out the ass though.
Andrew
http://cecid.sf.net/mirrors.php If you just want to BROWSE, you could use Covox's brilliance. =P
Guest Shadix
My school's firewall is unaffected by Firefox :\. At least our tech crew is too incompetent to know what a proxy server is though.
Koray
I know who owns vTunnel. He is buying up crazy servers to create a real proxy that lets you have your own unique IP and tunnels your traffic through all of his servers. He wants a /24 or something.. hundreds of IPs. But it's going to take a while to find a datacenter who will give him a whole class of IPs without justification for each IP (as ARIN wants). Download Tor if you can. Aaron C-T
I'll be using SafeForWork.net and KProxy.com at my school from now on. I'm technology editor on my school's newspaper staff. I mainly write about things like games and the like. And yet.. I can't access any gaming websites. And when I get home I work on art, homework, college stuff, and actually play games. So like.. the hell with research. Lawl. -Offtopic- Koray: Dude your post says like.. you posted at 10:33.. but you're away message says you've been playing a game forever. When are we going to play Halo: Capture the Flag? And yes.. I am stalking/keeping tabs on you. xD

TRD
Schools ban anything from game sites to greek mythology. It's a good thing I finished that report on time.

SupaChao
Ohnoes, DW. I'm assuming most of these should work, because they wouldn't know about them. Seeing as the entire student body relies on one to two students to find a new proxy server when the current gets banned.
shadowgoten
there's also www.cgi-proxy.net, www.anonymouse.org and some others, I'd have more, but they now have a close eye on us, and the moment we use one, they ban it.
SupaChao
I tried all of these today, all are blocked. Firefox browser cannot bypass the block either. vtunnel is the only working proxy in my school right now.
DimensionWarped
Set up your own computer as a proxy. Actually, thats probably incredibly impractical, but I doubt they would catch on quite so fast.
Koray
http://rofflecakes.com/ Not sure if it'll be banned but I coded the design. Look how clean my code is. God I am good. Disclaimer: I didn't code the forms, I know they are ugly code. Blame the proxy developers.
DimensionWarped
With a domain name like rofflecakes you'd better believe it'll be banned. Afterall, these are the uberhitlers who would ban any and all sites which suggest fun! And Koray my good sir, Rofflecakes... suggests fun!
SupaChao
I think Koray wins. I'll have to check it out tomorrow. As long as its not been spammed on proxy sites prior to this, then it shouldn't be banned.
MoNkEy
<3 Koray for supporting my site (Rofflecakes) Tell me if gets banned. I'll buy more domains for it. P.S. Koray, your code is so clean, but my design is fresher
SupaChao
Ok, shocking, first time I've checked rofflecakes, and it was already banned, prior to this. Seeing as no one has ever used it, I was pretty impressed. Currently stopped using vtunnel due to its hidious layout update. Looks like ass. =/
Koray
I've decided it bans based on the word "Proxy". Rofflecakes mentions proxy several times, and twice inside of header tags. vtunnel doesn't mention proxy once, at all.
