StriCNYN3
So I made some sprites for the first time ever. I'm quite proud of what I've made atm, but I know there's some things I'm missing. If any of you sprite makers have any advice, that'd be great =D Also wow, I haven't posted here in years =P
flame6753
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Stric is making the sprites from scratch, drawing the frame poses on paper first (as you can see above) for our upcoming Sonic game, and any spriting advice such as with anti-aliasing, shading, etc will be appreciated. We're both novices at spiriting for reference!
TailsSena
I'd just alter the second one. The smile is missing, and he's colored weird. make it match the first... If I have time, I might touch these up a bit.
VirtAnderson
...his right hand seems to be missing in the first sprite. It disappears into the sock.. please try and fix that..!

I could see how it looks like that to you, but that's sonic's glove i think, not his sock.
Rawr
But it still looks like his sock and glove are one thing, giving the illusion that his hand is nonexistant.
Serephim
to perhaps remove the illusion that his hand is missing, try adding a finger to the glove, like in the drawn sprite. Aside from that, i can see nothing wrong with them.
Flaria Icaria
I agree what everyone said above about the right hand looked like it's nothing there but invisible state. Try adding darker shade to make the glove stands out from the sock area. For the second sprite, he looked like he is ready to go dive in the water as a water tunic without using the bubbles to gets some air in the level zone. Try to match the color from the first sprite and try your best adding the small smirk like from your sketch. x3
StriCNYN3
Thanks for the tips guys, much appreciated =) I haven't noticed until now, buy yea i can see where you'd get confused with the socks and gloves. i wanted to throw in a finger, but im just not that good in spriting yet. I kinda wanna see if any of you guys can take a spin at at, just to see where i should improve on and such. For the second one, I was just messing around with colors. I don't think the colors look too off though, or maybe it's just me =/
Flaria Icaria
His colors looked like aqua color rather than blue blue color. If you wanted to play around with different colors, I say, go for it. I like to see him in different colors in rainbow order for fun. He-he. Floofy
Here are some color schemes I did. I absolutely love the idea of hand drawn artwork being made into sprites
Aaron C-T
I can see I'm in the minority here, but I actually REALLY like the color from the second one. The hand drawn style is great, and nice touch having no shading on his opposite limbs.
