No 360 this SAGE :(

I've been delayed slightly with trying to get 360 at SAGE after a recent trip to Spain, and beforehand deciding to yet again overhaul the graphics, for the last time though!

Secret 6th Zone! :o

I've also done a switch from my engine to Worlds, there's no point in me constantly trying to make better engines when Worlds is already far better than anything I could create. Doesn't half speed up progress too and to be honest makes the project a whole lot more enjoyable to be making.

Any suggestions and such are very welcome, especially on Rainbow Relic or Magma Hollow, I'm not too happy with the look of those yet.

The think the colors in Magma Hollow are kinda...cool for a place that has lava falls in the background. The scenery is great though in that and Rainbow Relic. My only irk about Rainbow Relic would be to make those blocks that sit on top of the foreground a bit less saturated/darker so that they don't look so...touchable. =P Uh, just saying they could use a bit more of a push behind Sonic if that makes sense. They could even be colored to look as if the blocks are set back at different positions for more variety.

Lovely graphics all together though. I always come to the threads you make of this game in anticipation of how things will look. =3

@P3DR0: At first, I didn't get what you meant about the sprite until I brightened up my monitor to better see things. It looks perfect when my monitor's darker, but when it's lit up, the shine on the Sonic sprite stands out and seems kinda strange. It almost reminds me of Sonic Heroes.

Hoj: Spain was great thanks, and this'll probably be the updates thread for now, i'll try to keep updating anyway. :E

Damizean: I know I forgot! I don't know how you live in that heat though. ;P

P3DR0: Same as Lark, didn't know what you meant till I fiddled with the monitor, unless you were on about something else?

Lark: Ah I see what you mean, will have a mess with those in a bit. Thanks for that.

Overbound: Glad you noticed that cause it's pretty much what I was intending.

Myeou: Yeah I drew nearly all of it if that's what you mean.

Cheers for the comments guys.

Well what I tried to say is the Sonic sprites are ugly and repetitive and don't match with the tiles.

About Magma Hollow being a bit too cool, I think that adding a glowing effect might do just the trick. As for Rainbow Relic, I think I'd expect to see some more colored foreground. Nothing absurd as you'd want it to be consistent with the theme you've already established, but I'm sure there's still plenty of ways to make it appear to have more color variation than it actually... does.

As for the Sonic sprites, try making it a bit softer. His appearance gives off a much darker (thematically more so than visually) feel than the level art. I still like the way they look, but it might look more fitting that way.

The stage textures are quite beautiful. I almost missed this topic because I expected an engine test or peripheral based on the topic title... both of which usually go over my head. I can't wait until we can see something, but do take your time.

I realized that the thing bothering me most about the sprite was the head, more accurately the side view. It does look stretched and ugly.

Since I'm tired from working on one thing almost all day, I thought I'd just show quickly what I would do:

(New --- Old)

Changed the spines, snout and eye shape and changed the shades on the body to make it look a bit brighter.

You may want to make the line between his eyes and muzzle a bit lighter... right now it looks like a strange smile until you look at it real hard. However, the softer spines are a great improvement... keep up the good work!
