Koray Posted August 5, 2006 Report Share Posted August 5, 2006 Okay, here goes.. one of my customers hired an "IT" guy to install a shoutcast control panel for his shoutcast server. This server is on the same box SFGHQ is on. This "IT" guy used a kernal exploit to gain root access through my customer's regular shell account. He then ran a program that automatically changed every user's index file to that same identical hacked page. And, ran off with 300 of my customer's money. Regardless, the kernal is being upgraded at 12AM EST tonight and SSH has been taken offline. Sorry folks. I just can't seem to get ahead these days. But to confirm, this was a server hack, not a hack aimed at SFGHQ specifically. All the logs I have (which are massive. While I was at work my guys did a great job with research and damage control. I just wish they would of restored everyones accounts sooner.) have been forwarded to the FBI's cyber crimes unit. As always, if you have questions, ask. *sigh* I need some ____ing sleep.
