Lol yes. Even monitors have to be in HD. My fav. part about these have to be the custom 1up, rings, and Super. Made 'em all myself.

Those are nice. If I were making them though I'd lose the yellow boarder around the icon and opt for making the gray boarder a pixel thicker. I'd also lighten the color around the top. At the very least that color should be the same as the color of the base. At best I think I'd shade the base a bit darker than the top boarder so as to give the appearance that it is behind the screen a little bit.

Like modern monitors though, I do find them to be a tad bland. Nothing that's your fault mind you, modern technology is to blame.

@ila: I suppose it's only fitting to say that bland technology inspires bland monitors.

Edit 3: Jeez, I didn't think that PNG's over 50kb were converted to JPG's until I stumbled upon a post in the old Sprite Contest Thread for starposts (which inspired me to make mine). I tinypic'd it, so now the quality should be better.
