Ironrind
This looks awesome. I'm going to give it a try.
DimensionWarped
Thats a pretty amazing feature list. Lots of pre-implemented gimmicks... all around it's pretty damn impressive. I do have some accuracy concerns with some of the gimmick/enemy reproductions, but hey... awesome stuff regardless of those small details.
Yvarthecreatorgames
omg! How long have you worked on this! This engine has everything !! People will get lazy with this engine!
Sslaxx
I take it this is the first v8 release? Version 8 only then?
DimensionWarped
omg! How long have you worked on this! This engine has everything !! People will get lazy with this engine! It doesn't have everything, it has most of the 2D power ups, a lot of the 2D enemies, and a lot of other random features from the 2D games. There is still plenty that can and should be done when making a game beyond just slapping levels together.
Kessler12
Cool.. I'm going to try it.
Andrew
Engine is great, there's some hiccups but it's very amazing overall. The buttons were weird for me (I use X as my action button and Z as my jump button) but it's nothing. Mario's specific physics feels odd, but again its nothing. One actual bug is in level 1, at the top with the spinny platform.. thing. It doesn't perform the way the real games do.
DimensionWarped
Considering the NES layout, Z as the action button with X as jumping makes a touch more sense.
BlazeHedgehog
Have you ever considered trying to write your own level editor for this? Like, so people don't have to download and fool around with GameMaker, they can just make and play levels from the game here.
Yvarthecreatorgames
I tryed it and it's really good. Most of the features work very wel. Its still a little, little bit glitchy
Asuma
I'm with Blaze. I'm not too fond of Game Maker, no offense. Most of the GM games lag terrible due to poor optimization. Yours and like two other GM games (like Ironrind's) It's actually pretty good.
Aaron C-T
When I read open-source I was really hoping Santa had just dropped something in C++ down to these forums that I could look through and learn from. This is still pretty cool, though. And if GM's event editor is anything like MMF I suppose it's worth a try. I'm sure someone here is gonna love the hell out of this- it's so thorough.
