Darkleo
Sonicinos, GM games should work on Vista if they are 'compiled' using GM 7. Darkleo, if you haven't, compile it using 7 so everyone can enjoy. If I open the gm6 file with game maker 7 and create an executable, it will works? Xoram
Yep, though if you save the file with GM7 it will get the extension .gmk; a different format that's not compatible with GM6.
Spike
I finally beat the Metal Sunset level. The special stage is un-beatable, though. It makes me want to throw my keyboard out the window. If you make ONE mistake, you cannot win no matter what. I can't stand that. Lucky Night zone is really annoying and spike-filled. There's a difference between challenging and annoying. The quality of the game seems to decrease as the game progresses, too. I'm not sure if it is just me, but the first two levels were very fun, and the third and fourth were more of an agonizing task than a fun game. I'm going to keep playing, though. I'm determined to beat this. I hope the last boss is climactic and cool. These emeralds are a pain.

Try to continue to play, the 5th, 6th zones aren't very hard...
Blue Frenzy
As I said, I wonder why all the carnival themed levels are that annoying >_< Actually game is not that difficult. It is just you spike I finished the game at first try without getting a game over, although once i was about to get one.
Rael0505
Spike: Zones 3 and 4 are the worst and most annoying ones. The next few zones aren't bad. I got like 3 game overs against the final boss. I think I hit it 16 times unless I miscounted. How many hits does it take?
Rael0505
Finally beat it with 3 rings left. I'm really really disappointed with the ending. The boss just explodes and falls offscreen and Super Sonic flies off before it says THE END and takes you back to the level select screen. There could've been a cutscene. Even a credits screen would've been more satisfying. Good game anyway. This is the first fangame I've completed 100% since Sonic Bible Adventure. Darkleo
Wow Rael0505 you did it! We are very happy to see then you've finished our game but we're too sad to see you've not be satisfacted from the ending... We've decided to do a simple ending because more people don't like the credits... maybe a cutscene... sorry again we hope to made better next time! Thanks! Serephim
Lol the only climatic ending in a sonic game was when tails saved sonic arse in Sonic 2 with the awesome music. Tails wasnt a loser back then.
Mygames191386395820
...Heres my 50 cents: Okay. This game is very... different. This is an okay static engine, and it fits the levels. But I must say, the engine could have been a little better. But overall it was a good stadic engine and it didint seem to have any problems. Most fangames with Static engines have problems. Ive played all the way to Floating Garden zone. Ive got to say, I thought that the Marble - themed zone was better than any of the others, and thats right before FGZ. The spikes are very anoying at times. Also, I collect all the Emblems and yet no bonus stage. ??? Than if this isint they way, what is? (Basicly meaning I don't have any emeralds yet and Ive never seen the special stage...) Level Design is very good and go's well with the engine. Sonic seems to jump too low, and his speed has been impaired. But this hasint stoped me from enjoying the game, I actully found this game very good and worth my time. Overall, you've learned a lot over the years, and your still getting better. I give you an overall rating of 88/100. But next time... MAKE IT MORE SONIC-LIKE. Spike
Go back to the level once you have gotten all of the special rings to go to the special stage for that zone.
MetalShadowX
As I said, I wonder why all the carnival themed levels are that annoying. >_< Aw, I don't know about that; I actually like Carnival Night Zone. But every other level like that I dislike. I guess the reason for this is just the type of gimmicks Sonic Team makes for those levels and of course, to some extent, the level design. It just must have something to do with the thought pattern that goes through their minds when they make those sorts of level... I don't know, something like that. Rael0505
They strive for realism. Carnivals are annoying and boring in real life, so they emulate that in their levels.
Spike
I don't understand why people pay to get into carnivals. For some reason, they pay money to get sick and dizzy in an insanely hot and crowded dirty, vomit covered metal contraption.
VectorSatyr
For some reason, they pay money to get sick and dizzy in an insanely hot and crowded dirty, vomit covered metal contraption. It's retarded fun, you should try it! [/jk] Seriously, I hate thrill rides, because I get the type of motion sickness that hurts, not the one that provokes vomiting. >_<;
Spike
Yeah, me too. (Except that I also vomit...) Anyway, I've gotten to the special stage on the Hanging Garden. It's hard, but I'll give it another go soon.
Darkleo
In my opinion, i don't like the "carnival themes zones" in Sonic from Sonic 3 (i I like spring yard and casino night from previous Sonic games) to Sonic Heroes. I hate them!!! I tried to create a zone different from these but i failed... sorry.
Spike
I've now officially beaten this game. I have to agree with Rael, the ending is extremely boring (If you can call that an ending...). It was a little fun, though. iI wouldn't mind a sequel. If you improve on all of the stuff everyone has mentioned, I'm sure it will be great. (Fix those damn spikes! That was so annoying!) Rael0505
If you do make a sequal, the level design can be improved. You've already mastered the hard part -- that is, you've made slow Sonic gameplay enjoyable through superb design. You need some speed in levels too, however. You need to combine fast sections to blaze through and still have slower sections for the player to have the freedom to explore. It doesn't degrade the game by much, but by the end of the game I feel like half of it wasn't even Sonic, but some other platformer using a Sonic mask. It's still an amazing game. I can't remember the last fangame I've enjoyed this much. I'd give this game a 9/10. You should submit it to the main site so I can write a review on it when I find the time. Spike
Yeah, it didn't really feel like Sonic. Ever think of making a Ristar fangame, or something like that? Ristar had the two-act deal then a boss thing, it had special stages which were different for every level, and it just had an overall feeling similar to this game. Blue Frenzy
No, no, a rocket knight adventures game. If you didn't play, try it. They are for the megadrive-genesis. Sparkster is the second part of rocket knight adventures. It is a game more concentrated on puzzle and miniboss battles spread arround the levels. I would like to see a fangame like that. Rael0505
I forgot to mention that to make a faster Sonic game work you'll probably need slopes. And a lot more gimmicks. This game is excellent as is though.
