Slingerland
DEAL OR NO DEAL Every Tuesday in the SFGHQ Chat Room If you haven't visited the new SFGHQ chat room, I have started an mIRC game of Deal or No Deal using a random number generator and other shit. PC0 made an awesome game board for the chat room, Azu has been running the cases (he's the models lol), and ssbfalcon is the phone. It has been really fun and exciting with other members egging the contestant on to take the deal or not. Here are the money records: Midiman: $218,000 ssbfalcon: $200,000 Wesker: $200,000 TRD: $120,000 MikeL: $103,000 Ila: $103,000 DimensionWarped: $66,000 Azu: $300 Tendo (Neo): $200 Get in there and play. We'll probably do it in the evening when there is less activity. I hope to get some sort of reward for the overall winner! If you do not know how to play, you can practice/learn on the NBC website: http://www.nbc.com/Deal_or_No_Deal/game/flash.shtml

Kain
What, so the bank just offers you your expected value minus a certain percent? Obviously (if it's not real money), the best method is to hold old the entire time. Why settle for a decreased expected value when you can have the whole thing? Edit: Actually, it seems to be based a little on the sample size and/or deviation (or just based on the size of the mean), but holding out is still probably best. Statistically speaking, I'll agree that holding out is probably best. However, we won't be playing enough games for the law of averages to kick in. Kain
I guess it wouldn't be so bad if you were offered 100k-200k and there are lots of little ones left. But I still would rather go for 1,000,000 if I was offered 425,000 and had a 50-50 chance to get 0.01 or 1,000,000. Of course, that's only cause it's points instead of money. No point of being first when you can be Ultra-First. But quite a point in having $425,000 rather than have a 1/2 chance of getting 0.
DimensionWarped
I prefer to play as though it were real rather than as though it were a competition to see who has the most.
