Koray
http://www.sfghqmb.com Everyone please get wiki-ing. I kind of went about this on my own but I don't think I'll have any objections. If this server can handle it we can always move the database over. But until then, please start editing. The people who are most active get sys-op and maybe even bureaucrat. Perfect Chaos Zero
Well hell, since he went ahead and did it for me, I don't mind I guess.
ssbfalcon
It would be great if someone who knows the history of SFGHQ well can get that stuff back up on the Wiki... If only there was a way to get that old deleted wikipedia page back...
Mark the Echidna
Koray, you've edited the stub template fixing the link with space bug, but left "wikipedia" written on it. (oh, you fixed it) Also, I liked the first sentence being in bold XD
Koray
Also, once you are regged folks, please keep the discussion of wiki-related things off these forums and onto the proper talk pages in the wiki. Thanks much.
Kain
I'll try and make a few pages I'm best able to answer, but I have to admit, I have no idea how to format a Wiki entry. Edit: There, made a page on Game Maker. Just copied the other pages in terms of format. Don't know if I broke any kind of Conventions, though. BTW, site looks great. Slingerland
So...how do you view a page that's been created? I don't see any links or buttons to anything... Plus, how would I create a Wiki?
Koray
What? You just search for what you want to know and it finds you all the relevant articles. And what do you mean by create a wiki?
Kain
You could always look at Special:Allpages. And to create an article, just search for an article. If it doesn't exist, it'll let you create it (wich is pretty much the same thing as editing it, only there's nothing there to start with). Edit: To create a Wiki, you upload the wiki software onto your server. Not sure exactly where you get the software, but it's freely distributed. Slingerland
I've created an account ("Slingerland" of course), so in certain instances where I am mentioned by either my real name or member name (composers page for instance), will it link to my "User:Slingerland" page? How do I link to my user page when editing?
Kain
If you surround something in double brackets, it'll look for a Wiki entry titled such. Ex: user:Slingerland which is different from slingerland You can Make it say something different, but still link to your page with the pipe character: Mr. AwesomeMod
Slingerland
Bonus points. Thank you, kindly. So, now I want to make a Nexus page...and help Mr. Internets Dummy again, please.
Koray
To sign your name just use ~~~. No need to go through all that bracket and pipe business. http://www.sfghqmb.com/index.php/SFGHQwiki:Talk_Page Feel free to read up.

hRook
I believe that there should be articles about outstanding members chronicling their history and whatnot, in a addition to userpages.
Aerosol
I vote no. Why? Because it's unfair to regular members and new members. Everyone would want to be an oldbie then, just for the internet fame. "outstanding members" can be mentioned on the articles of things they DID. Like J. Bailey would have a section in the Sonic: Time Attacked article.
Epon
Guys, keep it to the Wiki talk pages, that's why they're there.
hRook
I vote no. Why? Because it's unfair to regular members and new members. Everyone would want to be an oldbie then, just for the internet fame. "outstanding members" can be mentioned on the articles of things they DID. Like J. Bailey would have a section in the Sonic: Time Attacked article. If I don't recall, everyone DOES want to be an oldbie. Nobody wants to be a newbie. But, I'm not talking in terms of oldbie/newbie. I'm just saying if you've done things worthwhile and built a reputation, then that is fact, not opinion. It's not guaranteed everyone will have a userpage either. Koray
I'd rather everyone didn't. Let's face it, some of our members are much more productive and recognizable than others. They deserve pages. Random people with half a game demo and 15 posts on the forum do not. But again, yes, talk pages on the wiki.

Epon
I'm not the best CSS dude ever, but I spent some time on this today, maybe it can serve as a splash page similarly to the Wikipedia splash page... the only thing that you have to do is pass the variables sent from the FORM to the correct redirect PHP page, but I dunno what that would be... Also, I can't center the fucking DIV with the ID="container"... maybe I'm just retarded, but whatever... everything else is self-contained and I have it where I think it should be positioned, but you're smart, Koray, so go ahead and screw around if you want... http://www.eponisdumb.com/SFGHQwiki http://www.eponisdumb.com/SFGHQwiki/page.rar <-- contents of directory

DimensionWarped
Can we sticky this damn topic? I mean, its not exactly an awe inspiring wiki right now, but it would be a shame to start it and then just forget about it and leave it to drift aimlessly around the internet. Epon
Aye. I try to go on it at least once a day and add/edit a few things. If random people start to do this, it'll pick up the pace.
