Damizean
It's even earlier than the one we actually got! I'll copy-pasta from S2Beta. Ladies and gentlemen, behold: http://www.hidden-palace.org/?news/c/9 Awesome, gotta try it right now! Thank you so much, drx! Edit: Since seems the hidden-palace is down, I've uploaded it to megaupload. Have fun!

Damizean
So. Damn. Awesome. It has far more differencies than I imagined. Try to spindash to a wall, for instance. By the way, if you want Level Select: UDDDDU A + Start.
Guest Shadix
Is it real? I'm having trouble believing HPZ was one of the first zones playable in the game.
TRD
Ha ha! I like it when he bangs into the wall, I got to use that. That hidden palace stage is like the best stage in the sonic genesis series. Not even the advance series can compare to that. This is like the second piece of sonic 2 beta I have. Damizean
Is it real?I'm having trouble believing HPZ was one of the first zones playable in the game. Yes, drx is completely trustable, he bought the prototype from a dude from some magazine for 1500$.

Serephim
Oh my jesus. Lets have a contest to see who can get the furthest in Emerald Hill... ....ACT 3.....!! This place is like Genocide city minus the genocide... PS- BTW i hope you know that none of those were made by Sonic Team, because none of them actully existed. wesker
Wow I like how every involved with Sonic 2 Beta said that those zones were either not there or not completed, but they look damn near completion (Someone said that Hidden palace was like 3 seconds long and ended with a clif). Wonder why they were taken out.
Guest Shadix
The stuff Sonichead posted are from a rom hack, not this prototype Wesk, assuming thats what you are talking about.
UltimateSonic
Nice find. Green Hill zone was very interesting. They used GHZ ring placement in some places in HpZ too.
DimensionWarped
that was mildly entertaining... what with seeing that Sonic 2 was basically built right on top of Sonic 1 and all...
Slingerland
Spindashing into wall animation for the win. Somebody put that into their game now.
Blues
This is so God damned fake
Serephim
I dont really see the fake in this at all. It is really interesting that this prototype seems to be built right off Sonic 1. And i think its REALLY funny that there are two sprites in this dump that no one knew about.
UltimateSonic
They were known about, but no one knew what they were for. It was believed that they were tired animations...
Serephim
LOL, now THAT would be hillarious to see Sonic Team use...
TRD
I thought it was a game over animation.
UltimateSonic
okay someone needs to post the image to clarify that we're all talking about the same thing XD Don't have time to do it right now...
TRD
Well if you played the rom, when sonic spindashes or spin attacks into a wall, he bang into it and lands on his butt.
Serephim
Actully, he does it whenever you hit a wall when going fast. You dont have to be in a ball.
UltimateSonic
Ah, yeah thats the one.
TRD
Actully, he does it whenever you hit a wall when going fast. You dont have to be in a ball. I didn't realize that because the game has some sonic 1 engines in there, he can't speed up during running down slopes or loops so I turn into a ball to speed up. Guest Shadix
My question is... How much earlier could we go to get the beta that has the creepy, caverny HPZ... We seem to be pretty much at the root of the game here.
