  1. to be honest, i don't see why people get so worked up about spoilers. for instance (btw i haven't played the game so this may not happen those who are worried), if somebody goes OMG SNAKE DIES, fine, but the interesting part is how the story gets there, rather than the event itself. so having individual plot points revealed, i find at least for me, doesn't ruin the experience that much. in fact, it can create suspense for some scenes if you are anticipating something to happen
  2. the sonic rush sprites work pretty well with the pseudo 3d, but advance sprites not so much maybe something like this might work better: http://www.spriters-resource.com/sega/sonic/maincust/display.php?file=cussonic_cnsonic.png although, im not sure if there are sprites like that for the other characters =/
  3. can't you just have an overlay of semi-transparent colour, similar to your explosions, that just cover the shoes? it would achieve a similar effect
  4. that camera is crazy, i think i'm going to be sick while playing, but i love it!
  5. isn't europe getting this one on time? oh wait lol, don't joke like that. fucking foreigners, lets make everything unduly more expensive over here and takes weeks/months to come out. THHEE RRAAAGGGEEE
  6. i can't imagine what the looks like DW, can you sketch it?
  7. fair play on the other games having restrictions aswell, and i knew the main purpose of them was to contain spoilers, but you'd have to think they'd be some pretty bad stuff on that list for a magazine to delay their MGS review over a couple of plot points. the fact that i wasn't really aware that other games had similar restrictions on their reviews would suggest that MGS has an exceptional amount of restrictions, as most (good)magazines just tend to avoid spoilers as a matter of course.
  8. ....that is a BSOD, just in XP it auto restarts before you can read it. seems like your drivers are crapped out, try re-install/update and see how that goes
  9. try taking knuckles glide (theres bound to be a tutorial for that on the site that goes with this forum) and make it so he doesn't loose height but for a limited time. unfortunately i can't give you any technical advicee on how you would achieve that.... EDIT: a quick browse turned up this: http://sonicfangameshq.com/view.php?sec=4&id=12 it's pretty old though, but should give you some ideas
  10. censoring reviews for negative points? imagine if every game said the reviewers weren't allowed to mentioned certain negative aspects, there would be anarchy! i know thats not quite whats going on here, but still, slippery slope, and, fanboyism aside, i can't say i'm entirely surprised it's for a flagship sony product, who are infamous for their dubious PR. boy that's alot of commas. it should be left up to the reviewers discretion whether they reveal 'spoilers' EDIT: clearly someone who knows what they're talking about, sprites? FMV's? it's my understanding all (at least the majority, if the previous games are anything to go by) the cutscenes are rendered with the in-game engine, which is why they are semi interactive (eg, switching perspective and looking around). the textures, from what i've seen arn't miraculously more amazing than offerings we've seen in most contemporary games, so shouldn't be disk spanning monoliths resistance fall of man 'filled' a blue ray disk, but the majority of it was dummy files. storage insufficiencies wouldn't be the reason for MGS4 not coming to the 360, it would be Sony clinging on for grim death to one of the few exclusive franchises it has left, as several games have shown on the 360, disk swapping is hardly a barrier, if not slightly archaic in this day and age. sorry, bit of a rant there
  11. does your mobo have onboard graphics you can switch to to test? or are you fucked until you can find a spare gfx card lying around? for recommendation for replacements, my 8800GT was cheap and serves it's purpose quite well, although it's only a couple of months old, so it may still crap out on me.
  12. aww man, crap job this year guys, i was split between red the hedgehog, with its clever play on the emphasis of hold-right gameplay, in both newer sonic team games and in some fangames sonic and mewthree for it's lulz inducing but evil the hedgehog took the cake for me with it satirical commentary on the ridiculous plots of newer games, fanfictions and the like. kudos to the games that were physically uncompletable, the robot sonic one was actually a pretty good game, glitches aside. i felt the squiggles game tried too hard and ended up just being a broken mess, although the portal voice thing was a nice touch, and unfortunaly the 3D stuff it had in there looked really cool, removing bad points. sonic dawn was just awful, lacking the humour present in other games, which, looking at DW's post, should have probably made it the worst. eggman rocky was lulz for blatant abuse of the player
  13. AHAHAHAHAHAHAA, the website is great, downloading now
  14. it's 90 minute cutscenes.... i have been considering picking up a PS3 for this, but i'm definatly going to ride it out and see whether it's coming out on the 360 first. bit of an MGS nut, even if im not very good at it, i find the crazy plot and cutscenes better than the actual game mostly, but this looks more like splinter cell with some CQC and actiony bits, so you can't go far wrong.
  15. this is fine. apparently i got the highscore, however, this was not enough to convince me to register on their site
  16. opposable..oh wait, wrong end. i guess the same could be for our appendices, left overs from our tree bound banana eating ancestry you get mexicans? the majority of our (=UK) tech support comes from india
  17. umm, cant you look for your old CD-key?
  18. i've only ever seen the Z anime, but...this....looks appalling. reminiscent of the old mortal kombat live action film
  19. fair enough. some games use z/x as their action buttons, that seems to work fine also. i just find spacebar only really works if you need to use your thumb, say with an FPS. of course, ideally you'd use a gamepad for this
  20. the blue rings. you press x and you light dash one them. i don't remember there being a manual, but i just pressed the standard GM buttons until something happened. also, dont make space the main button, it's annoying, shift generally works better
  21. i believe they've been ripped already. also zone 2 of Sadv 2 has lava stuff
  22. i liked that, was atmospheric and generally awsome.
  23. google quicktime alternative, lets you play your quicktime stuff in other players but the ocremix files are .mp3's, so all you should really have todo is change your file associations....
  24. you mean parallax (the crazy 3d-esque scrolling)? or the shimmering effect. i believe there are tutorials for both (at least parallax) on the site that goes with this forum
