Alright chaps, E3 is less than 8 hours from starting so I figured I'd get the annual topic started. As usual this is just for general E3 news, I'm sure any infinitesimal Sega news will get its own topic. That said, lay down your predictions people! Winner gets me to click "Like" on one of their posts.

As for me? I'm not expecting many surprises, but I would appreciate a solid release date for Smash Bros 3DS.

Wow, much link. Very stream.

Getting rants and expectations out the way then!

starting with square enix. When will i ever have nothing bad to say about square enix.

No FFXV? Okay, this game is now vaporware to me. There is just no way a company can jog the same mile for 8 fucking years. Jesus, how much money have they spent on it at this point? How can you have nothing to show? I'll only be satisfied if this silence was spent doing nothing less than overhauling that camp-ass cast of Sasuke Uchiha's they call a cast.

Whatever, Final Fantasy XIV is great and i'm hoping they show off Frontline and maybe even new classes during E3. Next gen Dissidia would look neat at least.

MGS5 was the crown of last E3 for me, hands down. But Kojima promised to evoke emotion, and announcements like that from japan always concern me.

I'm eagerly awaiting to see Smash Brothers. Not new information about the game, but player feedback hopefully from the competitive smash community, just to confirm how the mechanics play out.

Speaking of, i'm praying that Namco announces a next-gen Tekken or at least Tekken x Street Fighter, because TTT2 was worth every penny i paid for it, and I dont remember the last time i felt that way about a fighter.

Star Ocean 5 would just make my day. Probably not happening though.

A new Metroid title from Retro would confirm a WiiU for me. A Zelda that looks interesting might do the same. A new Metroid title from any other JP developer is going to terrify me. Can't take another Other M, I just can't.

Microsoft is supposedly bringing out the big guns with franchise acquisitions. We'll see... They go first, I think it was at 12:30 (Eastern Time/GMT -4).

As for Sony, I can predict that absolutely nothing will be shown about Last Guardian. Maybe a vocal mention, but that's it.

Sony's done with theirs. First hour was interesting. When Yoshida said Bloodborne I swear I heard Blood Porn.

Second hour was meh, especially in the TV and COMICS and MOVIES sector. *sigh*

Playstation TV for $99. Basically a black Vita TV with added PS Now (read: PS3/4 streaming) support. For me, this means being able to play P4:G, Tales of Hearts R and Muramasa on the big screen with a controller (instead of tiny tiny buttons) with the added benefit of not needing to use JP PSN tricks in order to get the Muramasa DLC episodes. Sounds interesting. I've been waiting on the specifications of the HDMI mod for the original Vita, though. If that comes out before, then regular Vita would be the way to go.

I LOVED THE MS CONFERENCE. I WAS LUKEWARM ON THE SONY ONE.

But holy crap, I am beyond hyped for all that Halo (I'M HUGE INTO THAT SERIES). Loved Sunset Overdrive - also a Platinum MS exclusive game that I -think- is gonna be a multiplayer title judging by the last bit of the trailer with the other dragons showing up with different colours on their tail (while sharing the same design as that weird main char). Also Ori and the Blind Forest looked REALLY rad and way up my alley. Crackdown had me grinning since I loved the original. Gonna have to look into this Phantom Dust game 'cause I never heard of the original. MS's indie montage I felt was better than Sony's too considering they showed a brief clip of Mighty No.9 and Sony didn't hahaha! Below looks rad too.

Sony had some cool stuff too but I felt it felt a lot like the MS conference last year, a bit of games and then a lot of TV and stuff. Bloodborne looked really cool though.

For more multiplatform type stuff I am really looking forward to the new Tomb Raider and some of the other titles I saw (4 player Assassin's Creed I'm in you got me). I'm also mega stoked for Destiny! So yeah while I worked today and missed the conferences I'm really excited for the future of both conferences all the same, but was really happy with Microsoft this year.

Both major companies had excellent showings today. I'm a Sony guy, but really as long as every company is doing good it means good things for the industry as a whole. XB1 has some great looking exclusives coming out, and now that Kinect has been cut from the system I'm tempted to invest in one eventually.

On the Sony side HOLY FUCK REMASTERED GRIM FANDANGO. I audibly screamed in delight when I heard that name, and No Man's Sky looks truly incredible. Sadly I'll be at work tomorrow during Nintendo's Direct, but here's hoping for some more good stuff. Guys, this is a great time to be a gamer.

Yeah I'm not much of a Nintendo guy but after Sony and MS both had some solid stuff going on I'm actually quite intrigued to see if Nintendo is gonna bring the same kinda surprise to me. I'm not 100% against getting a Wii U just there isn't much on the platform that interests me, but if they start showing off some stuff more along my interests I wouldn't be surprised if next year I bought one after I get a PS4! This e3 so far has been one of the better ones in a long time so now I'm optimistic that everyone is going to do really well.

I only caught the Microsoft conferences, and chunks of the Sony conference. Overall I have to commend Microsoft for showing some games, having pretty non-cringeworthy presenters / in between segments, and for not babbling on about TV, sports, and what not. I'm not a fan of CG trailers when I just wanna see game play but that's not really Microsoft's fault.

Sunset Overdrive with the "gotcha" military cold open was fantastic, Phantom Dust I'm curious about, and last but not least a new Platinum exclusive game means I'm pretty much going to have to pick up an Xbox One at some point in my life, more than I would have said before going into the conference. I hope that game isn't TOO amazing because damn I just love anything they do but don't want to get a One for years. ALSO CONKER FOR SOME REASON

I figured I'd have a ton more to say about Sony but I'm surprisingly neutral. The Ratchet and Clank stuff is probably pretty cool but really feels like something that would have been really special, and more timely when the PS3 was meandering out of the gates. Not bad but nothing that has me chomping at the bit to upgrade to a PS4.

So now I'm hoping Nintendo will just announce release dates for Bayonetta 2, then show off a bunch of awesome Wii U games we know nothing about. But I feel like we'll get a whole bunch of info on things we already know a little about, with one or two big announcements (AKA Zelda).

Nintendo's conference was funny, had some great games, and some substantial teasers. Xenoblade Chronicles looks fantastic. Hyrule Warriors also looks great, and we got a release date for Super Smash Bros 3DS, as well as Palutena joining the roster.

All 3 system companies have had great showings, and I think the next year of gaming is going to be pretty fantastic.

I hear that. Bayonetta 1 & 2 on Wii U this fall, a new Legend of Zelda, Yoshi's wooly world looks cool. I like what I saw.

Nintendo won.

The real winner of E3: The gamers.

Final Fantasy Type-0 is getting an HD remake on the PS4 and XB1 IN ENGLISH! Zelda Williams teased something a few weeks back, so we'll see if anything comes from that as well.

I was pretty underwhelmed with the Nintendo conference myself, mostly because I'm not a fan of Dynasty Warriors games (So Hyrule Warriors is out) nor a fan of really any of the Mario properties anymore or Kirby - so really all that I had left to be excited about that was new was the new Zelda game. I haven't liked the last few Zelda games after Twilight Princess, including some handheld releases, and so I'm really pleased to see a nice big open world and the cel shade was cool. I wanna see it in action though and hope it isn't super gimmicky. As for the new IP they showed I didn't really care for it, though that mech game (Xenoblade Chronicles) with the composer from Kill La Kill made me kinda interested too. All in all it wasn't really my deal, was really hoping to see a Metroid or something, but I can see how a lot of hardcore Nintendo fans would really enjoy it - it just wasn't for me.

I'd say all three had a decent showing this year all around anyway. Definitely was one of the better e3 events in recent years!

Sawano's making the music? AWESOME. (Mitsuda's work on Xenoblade was amazing as well, though)

I'm hype for XenobladeX ChroniclesXX X:EDITION and the new Zelda. As for the rest, it's alright. Oh, and Bayo 1 included in the Bayo 2 disc. Sounds nice, but the box art should really fix that indicator, it gives a "Featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry Series" vibe.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with this E3. Microsoft showed us they did make a GAMES console after all. Ubisoft had interesting things here and there, but EA was a snorefest full of le epic memes xD - they get the 'most uninteresting' award this time.

They used "Don't taze me, bro". Goddammit.

And just like that, I'm getting a Wii U. Their release lineup looks fantastic.

Aside from the Hoenn remakes, Those new Zelda games and X. God Damn those look amazing. Splatoon looks interesting as a concept.

So I guessed right with the composer of X. The trailer piece sounded a lot like Sawano's previous work.

Love the use of Robot Chicken in the conference as well.

Also, the Doom 4 teaser sorta caught my attention. Still hoping they don't screw it up.

Man Nintendo got me all kinds of pumped. I want to play every game they showed in their digital line up, the Smash Tournament was a lot of fun to watch, Star Fox teases, Miyamoto's two "Project" titles are probably gonna be really interesting, I mean geez. I could almost just forget about Sony and Nintendo and have plenty to look forward to. It'd be a lot easier on my wallet at least!

Yeah I'm a huge Platinum fan (though sadly Wonderful 101 doesn't really interest me a ton), I'd really like to play Bayonetta 2 but I'm probably not going to buy a Wii U anytime soon. I've got PS4 next on my list, and then beyond that I have no idea if/when I'll get a Wii U. At the very least they have me saying "if" now because I'm really intrigued with that new Zelda game I just don't see a ton on there yet I want to make me drop 300 dollars on the system. Still if Zelda ends up being something not gimmicky and back to being a more traditional control scheme I might be on board and open with the idea of getting a Wii U.

Nintendo's new games sure sound promising. Especially a new Zelda and Star Fox, but at the same time it's kind of a bummer that the games are still so far off. You'd think almost two years into the Wii U's life span we'd be seeing more than just tech demos. Zelda and Fox should be playable form by now.
