It's been an ongoing effort to practice for this, and it's paid off, believe me. Every person in our band that competed in this competition won a state medal. Out of the eight solos and ensembles that competed for us, only three received a 2, with the rest receiving a 1. ( In case you didn't know, the score goes from 1 to 4, 1 being the best and 4 being the worst.) My ensemble, a mixed brass that contained two trumpets, a trombone, and a tuba, was one of the lucky five that received a 1. We're going to state competition at Mizzou in Columbia, MO.
