  1. The ultimate choice to make Story mode a reality is left to the new owners of Mojang- Microsoft. But, I can't blame them for going ahead with the idea of doing this. Hell, it sounds like a great idea. (if they don't fuck it up) There are a few things I would love to know: - Will it be a separate game? Like with what they currently do? Or will it be a part of the original game? - If it is a part of the game, how will it effect it? Will they add it as a separate game type? How will they handle a Story Game mode being so different, on a technique level, then what engine already exists? - What will the general story be about? Like, characters and things like that. Granted, for the longest time now I've been only been playing Minecraft because of the rich modding community that exists. (FtB FTW) But this does intrigue me into the future of the Vanilla experience.
  2. Why am I still a Sonic fan? because I liek 2 go fast I've been playing sonic games for a good half of my life- I got into the fanbase pretty late. I loved SA and SA2, those two games defined the later half of my childhood. I've just emotionally invested myself into the sonic series for so long I just can't leave lol Granted I've also expanded into multitude of other games, but Sonic games are just those games I can come back to, just to have fun playing and relax. There's nothing convoluted about how to play like League of Legends. There's no annoying ass 6 year old telling me how hard they boned my mother like on CoD multiplayer. There's no dickish hard level design like in some other games out there...ohshitwaitthereseggmanland tl;dr sonic is love sonic is life unless it's pokemon or league <3
  3. OH BOY, IT'S A LIBI A few years back some would have called me a pretty decent spriter, I still can somewhat make that calm today. Projects I participated in include: - The Modern Genesis Project - Helped with various revamps of characters as the style progressed into what I called ModGen2 (or MdGn2 in my file names) - - Came up with the idea of Sonic doing a triple spin kick and other like one other battle combo - The Custom Advanced Project - A LONG time ago, really only did one sprite for it: Sonic laying on the ground, bent up at the waist so he was looking forward Other things include: There's hella more, look at my DeviantART accountsif you want to: new, LiBiYKWIM old, sonic117007, THE ARCHIVE FROM 2007ish
  4. Well that's the only one I haven't started yet, I'll upload a progress sheet later
  5. *BUMP* I'll take care of this, I'll get in touch with you over skype.
  6. Does anyone else play the game known as the League of Logins? Would anyone else like to exchange usernames in an attempt to kick unranked butt? Or perhaps troll around in a custom game and test out new champions, strats, or just be a dick to your friends? Yes? Post your username below and we'll add each other! ;D Although, if I may ask, can you post what roles you play as well? I will compile a list of usernames and roles in the bottom of this post, that way it's easy to find everyone. 7. >Boost Trilogy I'd like to think the Rush games and the Storybook games would be included as an option too, even if they aren't picked. Well I haven't played through Sonic Colours much, only gotten a little past the first zone. I am rather fond of Sonic Generations, even if it is a little short for my liking. Sonic Rush was a good shitter game for me. Sonic Rush Adventure was another great shitter game too. I like Secret Rings, even if it was a pain in the ass sometimes. I never played the Knight game. lol Swooooords Sonic Unleashed...I love this game... lol I'm rather fond of the Daytime stages for the challenge and for the enjoyment I got out of them. And I love the Night Stages for the atmospheric feels that that they added to the game. It's got good world building, good gameplay (imho), good plot, and for the most part, pretty well written dialog. This is also the game that pushed me over the edge into thinking that Jason Griffith was finally a good fit to voice Sonic. Probably because he'd done it long enough so he was comfortable with voicing him and comfortable with interacting with the other voice actors. Eggman is also great in this game...lol Ergo... Sometimes the night stages can be a pain in the dick, that's usually because of the lack of drop-shadow in the HD version, and even though the Wii and PS2 versions have drop shadows, it's off-setted by the controls (which isn't all that bad once you get used to it) and mainly by the amount of bottomless pits everywhere. (granted I rushed hella-lot sometimes) I can honestly say this is one of those games that gave those good feels at the end of the game, other games that did that were Shovel Knight, Before the Sequel, After the Sequel, one of the Pokemon games (can't remember which), and one or two others who names escape me.
  8. >lurking on the forums >sees this Ooooooh~ I can totally Stream sometime in the future, granted I can find the time and I sort out some hiccups with my computer first.
  9. The ring counter is a bit big, but that's my own opinion. lol The thing that sticks out to me right now is that when Sonic touches the dash panel, he goes forward in the direction that is relative to the camera, instead of in the direction in which the dash panel is facing. You're probably already aware of that thought. Idea to "fix" it: have the camera snap to the direction of the dash panel is pointing just before Sonic is sent flying. If I remember correctly, that's how SA did that in certain instances. I dunno if it will work the best however.
  10. Not only that, but one of the more well known things is that some internet browsers will warn you that the file may be malicious, something I've encountered continuously with Google Chrome and MMF2 applications. One of the more interesting things is that Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 will prevent you from running a MMF2 application the first time it's open, unless you click "show more info" and "open anyways". I still haven't gotten a chance to play this yet, been way too busy as of late, but I'm really looking forward to it! : D
  11. I'm liking it! ;D It's a lot better then the traditional controller map in the loading screen way. My only crit could possibly be is the fact that an external controller works too, and the control scheme is different on that. But since I'm sure that so many will use the keyboard & mouse set up, it won't be an issue. Besides, the USB controller setup is pretty much exactly the same as the Sonic Generations scheme. Also, DAT BLOOM~
  12. Me thinks it would be wise for someone to edit the first post with a list of links to everyone's Deviant Art page
  13. I bought this last night and I'm very looking forward to when I get a chance to play it. I believe in the hype~
  14. I bought Shovel Knight and Freedom Planet last night through Steam. So I sat down and did a blind run of Shovel Knight in about one sitting. Took me around 6 hours and 15 minutes to do it. Next up on my list is Freedom Planet, which I'll start after I take care of some things when I get home. I don't believe I've played any demos of Freedom Planet so I should have a very interesting time. c: I'm still "patiently" waiting for the Hoenn remakes to come out so I can hear trumpets ring in my ears for a few months!
  15. Unfortunately, since I am away from my desktop for the next , I cannot make you an example. But what I meant was that you could smooth the edges of the grass off so that way they don't drop off suddenly at the end- turn the flat edges of the grass into slightly smoother slopes- round out the edges- shorten the grass on the sides. tl;dr The sudden vertical drop off in the grass at the ends look strange, make the edges more rounded. Sorry for confusing you, and I hope this helps a little more.
  16. @Light The Hedgehog I'm really digging that engine man! c: I'm just gonna take a stab at it and say that the cause of the low FPS in the video is just because of hardware limitations, which is completely understandable. It looks like the engine has a lot of stuff it needs to do, and 3D engines are pretty resource intensive. The other thing that jumps out at me is how harsh the lighting is. This is probably an easy fix but it seems like there's too much contrast between the shadows and the lighted areas-I'm specifically talking about Sonic, not the ground plane. @Neo_Fire_Sonic It would be best to listen to what people have to say, I've been around a few years and I know that shooting down constructive criticism is not good for personal growth. I learned the hard way, don't make similar mistakes. It would be who of you to listen to what people have to say, think about what their point is, understand where they are coming from, and take all that closer to heart. i won't even comment on how you just out-right ignored my post directed at you @Sir Spacebar I'm really liking of that new loop design! The only thing that bugs me is how the grass is handled at the top of it. It seems like a little unnatural and like it was just pasted on. My suggestion would be to try and get the grass to blend in with the sides some. Maybe make the grass on the edges taper downwards some?
  17. I get that you want it to stay true to what it's from, but when things can cause so much eye strain, it's best to just fix them. You could darken the background hills against the sunset and create shadows in the water where the light is being blocked. Over-all though, the background objects could use some major desaturation. I can see it being an issue tracking the characters on-screen as they move around. You need to have the characters pop enough against the background objects while still making sure it all blends together pretty well. Right now, in my opinion, it all blends in together a bit too much, which would create problems with some players. All that aside, I do really really like the stage as a whole, and I can understand why you don't want to change it.
  18. I was unaware this was I thing. This shows how pale I can get lol That is mainly because I do stuff like this and this
  19. I'd like to think I have a varied taste in music, but I most likely do not. XD I used to listen to Punk-Rock and Ska a lot more then I currently do. Hell anything that comes from my homeland in Southern Cali that lands inside my ears I usually like. My absolute favorite bands in that style are Authority Zero, Zebrahead (what a suprise), Sublime, and Pour Habit. I delved into the land of the Metal in my freshman year of highschool. I mainly listened too Disturbed, Slipknot, Five Finger Death Punch, and some Slayer. Like Serephim, more often then not I'm listening to VGM or VGM remixes. Lots of artists in this catagory: James Landino, RoBKTA (mah niqqa <3), DJ Cutman, Kevin Villecco, Dr. Halc, Falk, the Messiah of Funk- Funk Fiction, Jassbec (ilu no homo <3), Can of Nothing, and many many others that I could not possibly list. The main music label that I'm following for VGM stuff now-a-days is currently GAMECHOPS. Also, S:BtS & S:AtS OSTs are both amazing. Besides VGM, I've also fallen in line with the EDM/Dubstep/Electronica music crowd. I thank one of my good friends from highschool for getting me in to the Monstercat Media label. Artists like Cash Cash, Nanobii, Telivisor, Pegboard Nerds, Let's Be Friends, Muzzy, Stephen Walking, Skifonix, and many others are who I listen to from that label. Basically, anything that I come across on Soundcloud that I like, I favorite and download if I can. If you're curious enough, and have enough free time on your hands, you can go through my favorites on Soundcloud if you wish to. It's quite extensive, so be warned. lol
  20. I'm liking how the 8-way direction movement based Camera is turning out. The only things I can think of commenting are that I think the camera should zoom out a little bit more when Sonic get's up to full speed, and that the Running animation could use some tweaking. (that doesn't relate to the camera at all however) I'm really digging this man! The only thing I think you could add is some small, see-through soap bubbles that vary in size in the underwater(?) sections. Just purely for aesthetics. I'm loving that tileset and how it compliments the rest of the colour scheme in that level! c: It really does look nice. The inner part of The Sun's Halo could use some minor tweaking but that's just me being nit-picky.
  21. That is usually the case, but there is always an exception to every rule. But either way, I'm looking forward to SAGE and the game reviews that come with it! I might just have to do something for next year
  22. @DarkchaoX10 That would work nicely as a matter of fact. Instead of something large, you have something appear when you get the wisp power, it'll draw attention to itself as much as the current icon. I still think that the Score, Time, and Ring Counters are a little too big, however that's just a little nitpick.
