luksamuk
My computer is only 3 years old, but its an HP Netbook with Windows 7 Ultimate and 1 GB of memory. SuperBliz however got a new desktop, so there's still hope for the DASH engine. Netbooks don't usually have the best processors on the market... Rule one of being a developer: Have a PC that has 3x the best requirements to run your game.
Delta Hedgehog
I'm probably getting a job this summer, I might be able to replace the one I'm using now.
Strife
I can't offer a suggestion for an engine since I've only really used Sonic Worlds for MMF2, but I'm sure you'll find something suitable for the project. I would try and go for something cross-platform if you can, else PC is the most important platform to go with.
Delta Hedgehog
I tried making Cryostone Cliffs' snow better by adding some dithering and thickening it. Any thoughts?
SonicFan2010
Looks thick..and snowy.

Jettezu
The new snow looks great IMO. I just find the background boring.....looks so plain. I hope your just using it as a placeholder. xD
Delta Hedgehog
I haven't added the mountains yet, thats why it's so boring.
Delta Hedgehog
Let there be mountains. I know the background is a little TOO purple though. (BTW, I may or may not can Stardust Stadium because I can't seem to create ideas for good ground tiles for a Casino type level. I may replace it with a Carnival or Theme Park level rather than a Casino, or maybe a forest/woods level).
StealthyMC
Hai guise, I've got my new computer all set up and ready to go. This computer is many, MANY times better than my old laptop, as this computer has an eight core processor and an AMD Radeon 6850 GPU, with 16GB of memory installed on the RAM while running on Win7 Professional. I'm planning on rebuilding the DASH engine now, as this computer is a lot faster and stable than my other laptop. Sorry if I sound like I'm bragging, I'm just really excited to start developing with this computer. ;b
Delta Hedgehog
I changed the level cliche of Dilapidated Desert to Desert/Industrial. I wanted to make the level less boring. Inspired by Oil Desert from Sonic 4 Episode II. Any suggestions?
JetHawk95
If the Death Egg has no importance to the plot then maybe have it looking destroyed and Abandoned? I don't know when this game takes place but if you did that then it could take place after Sonic 3 & Knuckles. But yeah the background looks a lot more richer and fuller. Loads better (Y)
Delta Hedgehog
I get what your saying. The base in this game is the Death Egg Mk.III and is where Robotnik is creating the Blackhole Generator (I need a catchy name for it ) Anyway, the game take place a couple years after Adventure 2. JetHawk95
Then maybe edit the Death Egg to look more Advanced? As for names just some suggestions, Void Awakener, Abyss Cannon, Darkness Spawner,
Delta Hedgehog
That's what I was planning on, and I'll combine two. Darkness Cannon.

Delta Hedgehog
New screenshot of what is now Sequoia Snowfield. I changed the pallete and thanks to Feel, I got more tiles from Ristar. Now if only I could get Ristar backgrounds... Delta Hedgehog
An actual screenshot! It's not much, but the SSZ tiles are being put in now.
StealthyMC
So I started the building of Shimmering Shores today. Got the parallax code completed, but I'm not sure on how to animate the waterfall, and have the wiggle effect on the water at the bottom of the parallax. Delta Hedgehog
LOOKS AWESOME! The only problem I see is that you didn't use the tiles with the indents already in them like in the mockup, which is what it's supposed to be like. Shadow_Striker
Well, looks better than the other grass, I should say. Not that the other was bad, but this one is better. Shimmering Shores is looking very nice too!
