Has anyone tried to extract this?

Everyone who dwells on Sonic Adventure's Beta and Sonic Adventure hacking should know about Windy Valley's Beta, which went through a drastic change before it was released in the final game.

beta seen here:

I thought it was completely gone, but as I reading up on some stuff about Sonic Adventure DX, I heard about Windy Valley being in Amy's story. I had to look it up, and that's where I saw this gem:

At about 50 seconds in, you can see Amy Rose being carried by Sonic, chased by Metal Sonic in a Beta windy valley seen in this tails picture.

For comparison:

So I wanna know, since it could possibly be 3D Models moving in the area data for this cut level rather than a simple avi clip like the intro, has anyone tried to rip this yet?

PS: I'm not asking to have it ripped, I'm just wondering if it has been or if an attempt has been made.

hmm. Maybe the level still existed enough to make the render when they made the cutscene. It would be nice to at least be able to examine the image if it was prerendered. I've searched everywhere for a sign that someone's ripped it, but no dice. I cannot, as my computer doesn't like DC emulation.

Now that I look at it, I can see that. At least we know it was changed later on in the game because of it's references everywhere in the game. (I.E. the intro uses certain characters based off of scenes depicting them in levels they weren't supposed to be in or a beta version of the levels.) Now then, I would also like to bring up something odd I saw in the Nights pinball area of Casinopolis. There's this...bulge like thing that can be seen when you fly around. Is this to hide part of the machine itself or some wonky modelling?

PS, judging from the look of that box, it looks like that render was taken from Gamma's version of the stage.

If someone could show me how, I could try to rip it from the DC version. Better chance it's in that version than in DX. (ZERO chance it's in Director's Cut.)

EDIT: Also,

.

At about 1:35, the scene starts. There appears to be depth in this version, which gives me some hope.

Actually...That looks about the same, just with bigger models. It's a picture with the models running around in front of it. It has absolutely no depth, just like FanGameRevolver said. They just use the models scaling to trick you into thinking it's depth. Still though, I think I'll take a crack at opening up SA's disk files despite my computer's hatred of the DC (and my utter hatred of the shrew known as Amy Rose) and try to examine the Pinball areas and that mysterious rendered shot.

PS: I should have placed more examples of Beta WV appearing than just the CGI intro. Some preview shots for the DX version show the same tails pic as shown on my first post. and the Sega Dreamcast Loop checker disk also show two shots of what this level vaguely resembles. One is also featured in my first post. However, the more that I look at this shot, the more it seems to resemble the final to me. (Simply retextured of course) I'll look for some similarities in the final DC version to the Loop checker shot and run them back.

Anyhow, the hunt is on. (For me anyway.)

(Garbage hunch edited out due to not making any sense.)

... Mr. Sena, if someone could 'show you how', don't you think these materials would already be widely available?

True. But I'm talking about how to rip the models in general. It's possible that it's there, but nobody's been able to rip it specifically, or they just haven't found it in the endless abyss that is a 700MB CD. -Heh-heh-heh-

EDIT: Looking through The Models Resource, I don't see any rips from the DC version at all. Though DX has quite a few, there aren't any real stages there.

But The Spriters Resource has ripped every sprite I remember seeing in both versions of the game. So again, it looks like nobody has bothered to look for it, or nobody's been able to find it.

Dude, just stop before you humiliate yourself. You have no idea what you are talking about. Fact of the matter is that Sonic Adventure has already been picked to pieces by the Sonic community and it's pretty bloody unlikely there is anything on the order of prototype levels that isn't already known about.
