XeroNazoBlaze
Hello there, guys. As title says, I'd like to know what kind of math should I learn to make 2D games. I've decided to set MMF2 as my "programming language" (although I'm not very competent with it yet). I don't like maths, but for the sake of my project, I'm willing to learn so any web resource, books or anything related to the topic is very welcome. Thanks in advance. MrChidna
From what I can tell, trigonometry is paramount to wizardry for 2D games, particularly Sonic ones. So yeah, learn some of that.
Apricity
You can probably scrape by without any trig knowledge but if you really want to polish your game and make things move in more realistic and unique ways then trig is the way to go.
luksamuk
Grab some trigonometry and functions, for a start. Learning some Physics (yeah, not only of Maths the world is made) also helps A LOT. The rest is basically your programming logic. For example, you can easily see a Sine Wave (the graphic of a Sine function) on a pendulum's movement. You see how I'm relationing both trigonometry and functions here?
XeroNazoBlaze
So Trig and physics, huh?. Thank you guys for the help. I'll see if I can find on the net about it. Rep+ for everyone.
