Gamemakernooblet
How do i make animated parallax objects like water and clouds? I already know make-object-invisible-and-make-another-visible-to-get-frame-by-frame-animation. It takes too much time to do it that way. Okay i think im being n00b here lol. Zenor
You can use actives(in a separate layer), but it'll slow down the game level.
Gamemakernooblet
So i should delete all of my backdrops and add actives?
Zenor
No! Actives are just to animated things, in this case, parallax. backdrops(where the object walks on) can stay.
Gamemakernooblet
But arent actives always in front of backdrops? If not, how do i make em be behind backdrops?
Slingerland
To put an active behind a backdrop, you have to use the layering system. Put the backdrop object in a higher layer than the active's layer.

Asuma
Couldn't you use an Active System Box?
Felik
You meant BACKDROP system box I think? isn't it? P.S. LAYER ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS! They reduce fps dramatically.
LarkSS
Didn't damizean already release a tutorial on how to do this? @Felix: Using layers never effected my fps. The only thing that would effect the fps are the things actually in the layer, which is the same if you weren't using layers in the first place.
