Slingerland Posted November 8, 2006 Report Share Posted November 8, 2006 Being a percussionist, you'd expect me to dig the drums, but I don't. Your "room kit" sound doesn't fit on certain songs like Emerald Hill or Hill Top, where the snare just totally upstages the rest of the song. Too loud. The snare on Wing Fortress can be too overbearing at times as well. You also might want to change the drum sounds from song to song. Hearing the same kit in each was kinda lame. Chemical Plant has the most energy and the best remake in the soundtrack. It kicked so much ass. Mystic Cave needs more groove and bass/bass drum. Kick it. Metropolis is the worst. I assume all these are like MIDI imports, yes? Well, this one sounds like a MIDI, like how it's written and in instrument choice. The fuzzy guitar for the melody was pretty meh. Aquatic Ruins felt ridiculously empty. More bass (hella more bass) and drum activity. Throw in some congas or something. Throw some on Oil Ocean too. You don't have to stick to what the MIDI has laid already. Add stuff that makes the remastering stand out from the original tracks and the MIDIs. Pretty tight sh*t overall. It was really enjoyable to listen to, even if it was just a remastering instead of a remix. The songs kickass already and this upgrade was a cool idea. Liked emerald hill casino night and sky chase specially. What about 2player and boss musics? Maybe you want to practise converting some of musics for sfa to mp3 (i am going to change to mp3) so maybe you want to help, also, (as a very exgigent guy about sfa things) i could help you to find faults in the conversions. (SSNTails has done it, Cinossu has done it, OCR completely remixed it[speaking of which the Sonic 3K project is coming out soon]...) I still don't personally like Metropoliz zone... because the song sucks to begin with. Tell me what you think. I have a newer version with some redone songs I never uploaded. I also made a logo for it... somewhere. Oh, here we go: Downloading your MP3s now. Edit: These aren't bad, but they're a little dry. They sound like they were recorded in a cramped little recording studio, and it makes them sound really artifical. Maybe I'm just too used to all the reverb me and Cinos put on our MP3s, but... Streak, personally hating something? No way! *mauled* The remixes are very nice. Both sets actually. Have to admit, a majority of Blaze's I do prefer a little over yours, Streak.
