  1. I assume it was something to do with the built in Freeview receiver (Freeview is the standard free digital TV service here) but even I'm still baffled as to how it downloaded an update since it has no internet connection or anything like that, heck, the thing doesn't even have any HDMI connections so it's certainly not the TV of the future.
  2. I haven't got the latest update yet, but because of the 360 (or "Fuck Box" as my PS3 owning brother calls it) and it's RRoD (I had to send 1 machine back to Microsoft and it's replacement had to be sent back to be repaired, both only lasted a couple weeks before RRoDing) and PSP (which no longer runs anything from a UMD after an update) I now have a slight phobia of downloading updates for any console or gadget. I nearly shit myself a few years ago when even my TV decided it wanted to download an update, since I'd never heard of a TV that downloads updates, and to this day I have no idea what the update did. Anyway, looks like I better not let my 360 connect to LIVE for now.
  3. *Reads through topic* *Head explodes* Aw damn, I forgot to switch my sense of humour on again! *Switches it on* oHh wlel tatz jes greet! taz hummor fing zi uzing al der pwoar in me brian nwo eYE cnat fink strate7 *Switches it off again* But anyway, this game looks good! Now I hope I did just switch my sense of humour off and not my whole brain... uh oh... *dies*
  4. I've been using this new look this morning and it's a definite improvement from the others. I like the updated SFGHQ logo. The only thing that bothers me slightly are that some buttons such as are slightly hard to read (I am short sighted, cant wear glasses as they mess up my eyesight even more) but I can live with it.
  5. Even though I'm quite cold right now, the colours in this screenshot are making me feel slightly warmer, now that's a neat trick. I'll have to watch out for you, next you'll be uploading mind controlling images that turn us all into your slaves! But joking aside, I'm liking the look of this!
  6. No, I managed to detach my face from my computer monitor and have lived in the real world ever since, I've also been laughing like a mad man because being asked how to do STA's grinding so many times drove me even more insane than I already was as I couldn't give a proper answer because I fumbled my way into getting the grinding working, I don't know how the talented and helpful people around here cope! And The Fast Revelation IS finished, but if you meant the second one, no chance, my heart just wasn't in it like it was with Time Attacked. Oh, and when 900 years old you reach, look as good, you will not.
  7. Are you going to do this every time I create a topic, Streak? It's a bit... n00bish.
  8. GAME TITLE: A Christmas Game With A Christmas Name That's Original Because It Has A Bunch Of Other Characters That Really Shouldn't Be In It And The Title Suggests That Jamie Bailey Should Be Shot Or ACGWACNTOBIHABOOCTRSBIIATTSTJBSBS for short Fly around and stuff as many stockings with presents as possible and get the highest score possible. Get lots of items and fill stockings quickly to earn link points and gain extra time. A game in a similar vein to Sausage Roll Islands starring Robotnik, but if felt so much like NiGHTS that adding other characters was a no-brainer, so it's Dr. Robotnik's Rebellion meets Sausage Roll Islands meets NiGHTS meets Paperboy then... sort of. The presents Robotnik delivers were originally going to have bombs inside to ruin everyone's Christmas and destroy the whole zone (not in-game though), which is why he appears to have gone nice, but that is Santa's sleigh he's stolen, could Santa be inside the sack? We'll never know. CONTROLS: Menu screens: Left and right arrows and Fire 1: Navigate menu screens In-game: Arrows: move Mouse: aim Left mouse button: throw presents, hold button for auto throwing Right mouse button: hold for extra movement speed Merry Christmas, or something. EDIT: Now why is the forum giving me unwanted spaces in my game title, hmm... A Christmas Game.zip
  9. I forget the number but my number of completed daytime levels in Shamar is one higher than the total possible shown on the world map screen. It's always interesting to see mistakes I suppose, but this game doesn't seem to care what I get to see if I explore a little bit. I get to see the outside of levels, Sonic can walk halfway into rock faces, I get to see that the buildings in the game are floating in mid-air, and that's all while I'm not looking for errors, just looking for medals. Oh yeah, and during my first play through Chun Nan Sonic goes so fast I ended up stuck INSIDE the red bridge type platform just after the bit where you run around on the water. I couldn't get out, I was stuck running around under all the rings and stuff. I'm not even that good at finding glitches in games, god knows what talented glitch finders could discover in this game.
  10. I get this problem quite frequently and wonder who let the green chickens in the administration room again.
  11. I hope you like text... I like this game, I've had it since it came out at the end of November for Xbox 360 and still want to play it, which is good considering I play most games for only one or two weeks before I've had enough. However, there are three things I HATE about Sonic Unleashed, and werehog isn't one of them. Firstly, I've always hated it in games where you die unfairly because you press the jump button but your character ignores it and you fall to your doom. This game must have the worst case of the problem I've ever seen. Sometimes Sonic fails to jump, the werehog fails to grab a pole (or a green marker fails to appear) and I have had times where Sonic's homing attack just completely stops working. Secondly, three final bosses in a row. This wouldn't be so bad if you didn't have to beat all three again after losing all your lives, but due to the problem I mentioned above, I didn't have many, I had to replay levels to gather up a load of lives. Maybe I was missing something, but the final final final boss seemed totally unfair, you start with low energy (Oi, what happened to our invincible Super Sonic?), you get hurt but have no idea what the hell it was that hit you. And also you have to avoid flaming rocks and death lasers while flying around with the view forcing you to look at the enemy rather than where you're going and SMACK, you hit a rock and die. And thirdly, the thing I hate most about the game, these bloody QTE button sequence things. I hate them, I don't mind if a game uses the odd one here and there, but this game way way way overdoes it. And those flying levels are a complete strain on my eyes making me squint to see all those tiny button symbols, I have bad eyesight as it is, but if I go blind later in life, I'm blaming you, Sonic Team. I actually find the game more fun AFTER beating the unfair final final final boss, as you can choose what you want to do, where you want to go, which type of level you want to try and master next or just go from country to country completing missions. To begin with Sonic's levels are too fast and you hit any and every obstacle the game throws in your way, but it's like Wipeout, it's satisfying once you start memorizing each level. And although slow and boring to begin with, button mashing those enemies to death as the werehog is actually quite fun once you've levelled him up a bit. I only had an issue of not having enough medals to proceed once while trying to get through the story, maybe because I was searching around the werehog levels as I went through them as it can be a bit like a poor version of Prince of Persia or Tomb Raider, and I'm a fan of both of those series. Maybe it sounds like I dislike the game, but I don't, I definitely like it, there's just a lot you can criticise. They still haven't got it right though. If making a game entirely of normal Sonic gameplay is an issue for them with the speed he moves in this game, why not design levels with him moving at Sonic Adventure speed and have high speed special stages?. And bring back our rolling physics, Super Monkey Ball felt like I was playing a Sonic game without the running. I'm sure, in fact, I KNOW, with the right game designers working at it, a proper, brilliant 3D Sonic game is possible, unfortunately it looks like Sonic Team aren't the right designers. One thing they had right with Sonic adventure was keeping each character's gameplay styles in separate stories, you could even tolerate Big the Cat's awkward fishing levels with that set-up, so why do they persist in making us play at least two different games at the same time? But anyway, as I said, I definitely like Sonic Unleashed, but Sonic Team? Here's an idea for your next game: Sonic the Hedgehog: Time Attacked in 3D, but with some rolling physics gameplay mixed in, high speed special stages and in-level Super Sonic... oh, and me in charge. Well, I can dream cant I?
  12. My first SEGA experience was with the Master System, it was given to me and my brother as a Christmas present, but I didn't know what it was until I saw my brother controlling Michael Jackson on the TV (Michael Jackson's Moonwalker) and I've been into games from that point on. The first Sonic game I played was the Master System version of Sonic 1, then my older brother got a Mega Drive with Sonic 1, and even though he kept getting naff Mega Drives and we had to play it with flickering colours, I'm sure he must have had nightmares of me constantly asking "Can I play on your Mega Drive?". And when we got Sonic 2 on the Mega Drive, we had to play it on a TV with no sound, but I was still so excited by the game that I couldn't sleep. Ah, those were the days...
  13. I don't think my computer's handling this very well, Sonic's moving irritatingly slow. COOOME... OOOON... ACCELERATE DAMN YOU! Actually, it's EXACTLY like I'm playing the whole level underwater. Well, um... at least it looks good.
  14. And now you mention it, it's great to see you again too, Diablo, I didn't think I'd see your username on here again, as for something interesting... Uuuummm... uh.. yyyyeah... I'm, uh... up to something interesting... yeah... *Sneaks off to bed like a lazy shit to eat some large sausage rolls* Seriously though, I really should do something, I feel like doing something, but for over a month I was experiencing extreme tiredness, and even now that's over I haven't had the patience to make a game. Maybe I should make something small, oh, and I admit I'm a bit thick, as I cant seem to get my head around this Sonic Worlds thing. You heard it here first folks, the creator of the once almighty Time Attacked is a bit thick.
  15. The administrator had banned my IP for a couple days (someone should get that problem sorted, it happens quite frequently) but now I'm back, but for how long is another matter. Anyway, I used to love SV back in the day, it's one of the fangames I remember most, although it has aged horribly now. My favourite bit was the gravity defying mine cart ride where Sonic's eyes were popping out. So I'm looking forward to this remake of an old favourite, and you better include my favourite bit! Looks good so far.
  16. Very cool, but I imagine it'd be rather strange playing a whole game with a tilted view. It would make an awesome special effect at certain moments during levels, such as when you go round a loop, or looking up as a boss appears in the sky or something.
  17. Yes, you found out my big secret, I am a bitch, therefore it is my duty to do this... *Feeds Epon to the drunken green chickens who seem to like eating SFGers at the moment* There, now maybe those bloody things will leave my large sausage rolls alone for a few minutes! Hang on... one of the damn things is chewing my leg! AAAAAAAH! GET OFF! GET OFF!
  18. *sticks a giant circle on the wall* There you go, I'll take it down after a while. Actually, I have been around a while, I just seem to be a bit... inactive.
  19. I'm not giving you any warm welcome, I'm giving you a BURNING HOT welcome! *Throws Syota-Nize on the BBQ, waits ten minutes and takes him off again* Ah, nicely charred, welcome!
  20. Ah, two SFGer birthdays on the same day, even more reason to party. Happy birthday!
  21. Happy birthday Ty! Now let's party, but someone better get the green chickens under control, they're drunk already... and eating SFGers!
  22. Ah yes, the old issue of fitness. I used to be eighteen and a half stone in January 2004, when I felt like my own body was trying to suffocate me while lying in bed. Then everything changed, I started the Atkins diet and started exercising. The good thing was the diet stopped me from getting such unbearable hunger all the time, the bad thing was, it had other effects. My normally thick hair thinned out and I couldn't drink much alcohol before being sick. I started with an exercise machine until it broke after four months, then I started running, as I wanted to do something that didn't require a machine. After I stopped losing weight with Atkins I changed to a normal diet, and that's what I'm still with today, only I've now recovered from the Atkins side effects, but my hunger is still under control, so that's good. When I started exercising I could only do five minutes on the machine (with very little resistance) before having to collapse, by the time it broke I was able to do it through the length of a one and a half hour film. These days I'm running five miles on weekday mornings, not much fun in the cold darkness of winter mornings, but fine in the summer. The lowest I've got my weight to was twelve stone, but with different situations life throws at me I end up gaining some weight then losing again. I lost weight easily last year, but this year the weight doesn't really want to come off, and the only difference in what I'm doing is that I'm not eating so many bananas. Strange. But still, I'm far better off than I used to be.
  23. I'm a bit late, but Happy Birthday Rael! EDIT: Pointless fact of the day: I just realised this is my 26th post (well, on this particular board anyway), it's in a Birthday topic, and I turned 26 on the 26th February this year. Damn that Birthday almost had me in tears, I never knew having a matching age and date was bad luck.
