  1. Basically... MOAR FRICTION PLZ Unless, of course, your team is trying to make Sonic Figure Skating Adventure.
  2. Excellent. The first "Hi! I'm new!" thread I've seen in awhile that isn't an embarrassment. Your 3D work is far more impressive than anything I've attemped during my dabbling in 3D programming. I look forward to seeing how you'll apply your skills to the world of Sonic fangaming. Welcome!
  3. In all seriousness, then. I think the sword-play should be done in conjunction with the traditional speed-based gameplay. The sword would only be used in "hit and run" or "run by" types of moves. For example, Sonic will be running through an area, and an enemy will be coming up on his left. Wave the Wii-mote, and Sonic will swing his blade as he runs by.
  4. LEAKED BOSS SCREEN FROM SONIC AND THE BLACK KNIGHT!!
  5. This film was off the fucking chain. My favorite scene has to be when the Joker shows up and makes the pencil "disappear".
  6. I'd probably go with a Mac if I had the money. Many campuses, including my own, not only offer student discounts on MacBooks, but give you free shit like an IPod Touch and printer for free. And I'll confess, I'm quite the whore when it comes to free stuff. But as long as MMF2 and World of Warcraft run smoothly on this machine, I'm now giving up my current Windows laptop.
  7. I like the Quick Step feature they've implemented. I've always believed that there should be some way to strafe while running at high speeds in the 3D Sonic games. The night portions look terrible, however. So is the day/night system in real time ala Pokemon Gold/Silver? If so then I guess one could just play the game during daytime hours. I doubt Sega would be that merciful to us, they tend to shove new gameplay "choices" down the player's throat. (The so-called "optional" guns in Shadow the Hedgehog, for instance, were required to complete many missions.)
  8. This is ridiculous. I bet Blue Frenzy always wanted to have his SFA thread derailed by another long-winded Sereph/DW argument.
  9. So can anybody put up a Wiki for their fangame at Sonic Retro, even if it's not exactly...well...retro?
  10. I was more fond of driving the low-poly-Lotus-Elise-that-drives-like-a-Barbie-Power-Wheels car.
  11. Anyone who can watch that with a straight face should get a trophy.
  12. Am I the only one who thinks SatAM is overratted? I didn't even like it when I was a tyke.
  13. Apart from the already-stated gripes regarding level design, this project seems to be working out beautifully. Your choice of artistic style is particularly fascinating, it makes the game feel like a Post-Adventure Genesis title. The music sounds super authentic. Love it!
  14. I loved the first half of the film; it delivered on all the promises of super-hobo mayhem. After the "big twist", however, the movie stumbled into "I don't fucking care" territory.
  15. Make sure your PC has Bluetooth compatibility. If your computer doesn't have it, you can by a BT USB plugin for $20. If a Bluetooth Managment utility doesn't come with your plugin, you can probably download online for free or buy it. Now, download and install GlovePIE. Run your Bluetooth manager and put it into detect mode, turn on your Wiimote, and run GlovePIE. That should cover everything except IR support. I never got IR working when I was messing with Wiimote-PC stuff. (Although I did try playing Warcraft with it for a bit, and it was pretty fun jumping around and backstabbing.)
  16. You can always start by building your levels with ripped tiles from the other Sonic games and replacing it with your own art before you release the final game.

  18. Slow progress on Sonic Blitz is sssllloowwwww.... As much as I'd like to get some awareness for Blitz going, I don't have anything dazzling or workable to show off at the moment. Although I could just flash some old stuff.
  19. 33 MB!?! BRB, sandwich. EDIT: The blur file randomly deleted itself, and the Chaos Control move is worthless since it slows down Sonic along with everything else. Try increasing Sonic's movement and animation speeds during Chaos Control to offset the slowing of everything else. There really isn't much else here to comment on.
  20. This game really does look awesome. I'm especially liking the drifting mechanic.
  21. That's like making a Batman movie that continues the events of Batman & Robin. I think many people, in this community at least, found the story to be annoying in that game. Perhaps a very loose continuation of events, ala The Incredible Hulk, would be more appropriate. It's you call, though.
  22. I say he should add an additional "z" for the sake of sheer dickery.
  23. No, this time it's the damn green aliens from Metal Slug.
  24. I swear it feels like I just updated just a few weeks ago. What have they improved?
  25. Rep up for the detailed info, Blaze. I didn't end up utilizing it, but I think it'd be helpful for other users wanting to get the hang of camera shaking. I don't know what version of Worlds I'm using (I've made so many random changes), but I know there is a camera system implemented, I found values for CameraShiftX and CameraShiftY. Basically I just did -(Condition Fulfilled) Add "sin(Level Timer)*10" to CameraShiftX
