Will you distribute it as an .iso? .. If it's really going to be sonic the hedgehog CD, that is. Just drop the CD part. You don't need that to avoid naming problems.

At who is SEGA/Sonic team aiming to get attention from? The "Old" Sonic fans, or the "New" Sonic fans? Calling this "Sonic 4" without bringing what made the previous games so great, and completely missing the point of what is a "Classic" game is enough just to consider this a "slap in the face", like Tentril said. If this is supposed to be a direct sequel from Sonic3&K, I'd like at least some continuity and the new content like what each game brought. They hyped us a lot, calling this to be a game that would bring Sonic "back to the roots" - But they really didn't do that. It's just another Sonic Rush or whatever you want to call it, but it's not a "Classic" sequel. Preposterous. I'm not ungrateful- I'm upset. Because we already got a game like that. You know what did homing attack well? Sonic 3D Blast. Despite the terrible flickies mechanic that didn't let me enjoy it as I'd like to have, that was done right. There's something wrong with SEGA, it looks as though as if it hates Classic Sonic - Or can't get money without having to resort to the new Sonic fans. It goes even faster? Great. Just what you'd expect from a Next Gen Sonic game.

The second one looks much better, hands down. It has the details and colors the first one doesn't have, and in comparison, it doesn't look bland.

It doesn't. It's just that that new logo will make it look like it's done for kids and that making games is easy, even though it's not for kids and that it isn't easy. Plus, who would put a smiley on a logo? It looks incredibly unprofessional.

My point stands still. If you can do it and make it look nice in the end, then you'll gradually get better.

I'm just not digging the shoulder. It seems more plastic than metallic, plus you have to give some smoothing around the white lines; the transition between white and dark blue seems a bit forced. That's how you get better at animation, though.

Hey, It doesn't mean you have to stick with the rules. If the GG games were like that, your fangame doesn't have to be. Sonic 1 had 6 emeralds, and Sonic 2 had 7, so think about it. Doing what the genesis games(because most of the fangames are based on the originals) didn't do (and in your case, doing what the Game Gear sonic games didn't do) is what makes fangames and rom hacks unique. That aside, I enjoyed your demo, the development seems to be going really well too. It's much better than the first version and it really feels like a game gear game. Everything else that I could say has already been said.
