  4. Something that has been bugging me about the iPhone version of sonic 4 is this: It if is indeed true that Sonic is just sprites made from a pre-rendered Sonic model, why didn't they use it for the iphoen version instead of that crappy rush model?
  5. It'd be cool if they did all three episodes in different styles. Notice how it says episode, not part. They could completely revamp the physics and get away with it. Hopefully for the better and not for the worst.

  7. I was just taking a guess at how many episodes there would be haha. Could be more than 3, but I know it is going to be at least that much. Why would they make it episodic for only two parts, ya know.
  8. So I beat this game (wii) tonight guys, didn't bother getting the chaos emeralds. My synopsis: It is one of the best Sonic games that has come out post SA2. That isn't saying much however. In comparison to Sonic 1 CD 2 3K it pales in comparison in the gameplay department. In fact, my little brother even said "wth is this? this isn't sonic".. when i let him play. That being said, it runs rather smoothly but it is pretty slow compared to any of the 2d sonics. It is short. I beat it in 45 minutes to an hour, but you probably already knew that considering there are only 4 zones. It looks beautiful, very visually pleasing. Overall, Sonic 4 is not a very pleasant or enjoyable experience. As short as the game is, it has you going through each stage wanting to see the next one, as you are bored and annoyed by the current stage. It keeps you occupied, it isn't really boring and some parts such as Lost Labyrinth are quite intriguing. For the most part though, it isn't hype. The physics aren't the same as rush. The rush engine is much better. Either that, or the level design doesn't fit this engine. There are a lot of badly place things that will get you killed. I died many many many many times because of dumb shit. Not because of lack of skill, I as well as all of you have the sonic formula down packed. It is really just stupidity of the game design that kills you and that will make you even more angry. Boss music and some of the stage music is the worst that I have ever heard in a sonic game. Ever. period. Overall, it definitely isn't worth 15$ on its own. I would pay $20 for all 3 episodes, but not $15 for this pile of filth. Even excluding the other sonic games as variables, this game is pretty annoying. It is a potentially fun game: It could be fun if you just want to mindlessly play a game without paying attention, but you can't do that or else you'll probably die from something you're not supposed to.

  11. Releasing the demo now wasn't really necessary. We can still see the engine tiles in this. You could've waited a while longer. The first act was extremely short also. Nice visuals though.

  16. Hey guys. You already know about the series of Dreamcast re-releases coming to xbox live and ps3. They have already released Sonic Adventure which is upgradeable to Sonic Adventure DX via download content. The game is pretty much essentially exactly the same as the PC version of DX. It's pretty great. Awesome addition to your xbox collection if you don't already own Sonic Adventure DX. Not that it's not really worth it if you already own DX. I bought it anyway even though I own both the Dreamcast and Gamecube games, just because I wanted to play it on xbox. If you're not into that kind of thing, you won't miss anything playing it on your cube/ pc It's a surefire given that Sonic Adventure 2 is going to be released on Xbox in this series somewhere along the line as long as these games sell decently. What would they change in SA2? Nothing? I don't think so. They upgraded DX graphically before releasing it on Gamecube because they didn't think it was graphically fit for the console. They slightly upgraded SA2 but only had a few months to re-release it for some reason I don't remember atm. Basically ,it looks pretty much the same graphically as it did on dreamcast, just slightly smoother and better shadowing. Wouldn't it be awesome to play SA2 with DX's character models? A perfect re-release of that game in my mind would be this: Sonic Adventure 2 with DX Character models Polished and improved blending Xbox Live Versus mode for racing and emerald hunting Xbox Live versus chao karate Xbox Live Chao Racing Trade chaos on Xbox Live Interchangeable soap shoes/normal sonic shoes? And as with DX I'm pretty sure that since these are dreamcast re-releases, they will release the game initially as Sonic Adventure 2 which will be upgradeable to Sonic Adventure 2 Battle via download content. Since the two games pretty much consist of the same content, there might not be much to upgrade. That package would consist of. Xbox Live kart racing Secret Kart Racing Karts Amy/MetalSonic/Tikal/Chaos/ChaoMechs as playable multiplayer characters along with the few more multiplayer stages that weren't in the original Chao Karate It might be different that that but more or less equivalent to that from a logical standpoint. I'm pretty excited about this Dreamcast re-releases series, and SA and SA2 are my two favorite 3D Sonic titles. SA had that genesis style platforming, but SA2 was a bit more technical with the gameplay. What do you think? I think these ideas are pretty much exactly how they will release it with the exception of the DX character models. Chances are that they might leave the characters alone, but it makes sense for them to do it from a marketing standpoint, and I'm sure thats what they thought with DX. The only reason they might not is either because they don't have the source code for SA2..or think the game will do fine on it's own. DX can hold it's own graphically in this day and age, SA2 even SA2B kind of can't. Thoughts?

  18. That gives me an idea. Since custom user titles are already enabled for standard users on this forum, with enough rep is it possible to get user title colors? Like 50 rep you get a blue user title, 100 you get a dark green, 350 you get an indigo, then 500 an orange title. The numbers don't have to be those, but something of that nature. They correspond with whatever rep title for those numbers. Just one of my ideas.

  21. Sure, I'm playing Sonic Adventure right now on xbox lol but later I'll upload them. Not only that, I have all of TGF Team X's old games. The full version of bladerunners sx, bladerunners revolution demo, Secret agent flash, sonic dead zone, etc.

  23. I mean I wouldn't mind redesigning the main site, I have time on my hands. Only problem is that I'm not that good at web design, but I could whip up some layout ideas and present them here. Also, the owners might just like it the way it is, which is fine with me too. What about hrook?
  24. Admins, don't take this as an insulting thread. I love the sfghq the way it is, but I was just thinking of a suggestion. Maybe by SAGE 16 or by next summer or something, the main site could get a facelift. The only reason I say so is because really I think everyone skips past the main site and goes straight to the forums, it used to be the other way around back in the day, and it hasn't been updated very frequently. And plus I think In the next year or so, people will actually be finishing their projects, and maybe having a fresh new modern layout will encourage updating the front page more often or something. You could recompile a list of all the old fangames, and start adding fresh ones, sonic worlds and other engines could have their own content section. Just ideas I'm typing as I go along. What do you think?
